Heyyy yooooo
what's up Splinter Player around the world how are you doing? I want to share my battle using one of my own account that played in Gold League Format. And this time, I want to share that speed is the key in Going to Distance ruleset battle. Especially when both player did not have monster that having Return Fire or Headwind ability. So, either attacked first or got attacked first it will determine who will be the winner in this ruleset battle. And the good side of having faster team is we have chance to dodge opponent attack. But, back again if the opponent is normal user that did not using cheat and if the RNG is work correctly.
So, lets see how the battle going shall we. But,before that we need to know once again what the ruleset first.

Okay since you guys know that the ruleset is Ferocity lets knowing this ruleset a little bit deeper. This ruleset description is

Only units with ranged attacks may be used.
Consider including units with the Close Range and Return Fire abilities in your lineup.

So, basically this ruleset makes both player can only bringing just range monster only. So,it will be hard to arrange in this ruleset. Both player need to reconsider bringing 1 or 2 monster that having Close range ability to be able survive getting damage as a tanker. And it is very rare that monster with high Health that have Close Range ability. And as i said above Queen of Crows is one card that really good as a tanker and debuff. But,what if both player cannot bringing good monster like that? What we need to do? In my opinion the only think that we can do is bringing monster that can give speed buff. So, if we can beat opponent first we can have higher chance to win this battle. Thats it. Very simple.

Strategy Phase

Screenshot (3296).png

As you can see in the picture above this battle only have 2 ruleset. The first ruleset is Close Range that means all range monster will having close range ability that can make any range monster can still attacking even in the first position. The second ruleset is Going to Distance ruleset that means both player can only just bringing range monster only in this battle. The manacap in this battle is just 29 which is below average. And the only element that cannot be used in this battle is Death element. When looking the combination of this ruleset, this battle is having advantage to both player since all range monster can be a frontline. The best way to ensure victory is using Ilthain with Life element. But, yeah Ilthain is very hard and expensive to get or rent. And this time, i am using Water element combined with Dragon element. Which is i can bring 3 element total. That is Neutral element, Dragon element, and Water element. So my choices is much more than using other element.
And this is my strategy line up, you can see in the table below

CardPositionAbilityReason
Summoner-1 Range attack -1 SpeedI am using this summoner because the second summoner that pretty good after Ilthain is using Quix to silent range attacker. With -1 range attack and -1 speed ability. It will make range attacker of the opponent team will 1 point behind my team. And it will make my team stronger than opponent.
Filler Usually i am using Venari Marksrat as filler for my second line up to be a good tanker to handle opponent frontline tanker. And i just thinking if my Frontline Tanker got buffed due the Martyr effect, maybe my frontline tanker can surprass opponent frontline tanker.
Frontline Tanker I am using Gargoya Devil as a frontline tanker because this monster having high speed and high range attack. Also this monster having flying ability that can make this monster have 20% chance to dodging opponent attack. And with close range ability this monster can attacking even though in the frontline.
Buff Support I am bringing Naga Assassin to my line up because this monster having Swiftness ability that can make my team mate will be faster. Also this monster having backfire ability that can make opponent that missing attacking this monster will get counter attack. And this monster speed status already fast. Thats why this monster have higher chance to dodge any attack especially when opponent have low speed.
Support Attacker I am bringing Angelic Mandarin to be carefull if opponent will bringing monster with scatter shot ability. So, if the opponent randomly attacking my back it will get healed by triage ability. And for the silence ability, i think it will be useless in this battle since both player cannot bring any magic monster here.
Support Attacker I am bringing Supply Runner because this monster having Swiftness ability that can make my team faster due the Swiftness buff. So my team will get 2 additional Speed from Supply Runner and Naga Assassin. Hopefully my team can dodge any opponent attack. Even though it feels like impossible with just 2 or 3 speed different can have high chance to dodge attack. But, who knows that the RNG work properly right.
Attacker I am using Merdhampir as my last monster in my line up because this monster having life leech ability that can steal opponent health after damaging opponent. And base on the ruleset Close Range this monster can be a strong tanker if got so many health after attacking. Thats why i am putting this monster behind.

So, this is my line up. I think my line up is very common and hopefully my team can win this battle.

Battlephase

Okay first of all i dont quite happy encountered with this player since this guild is pretty famous. And also whenever i encountered with player in this guild. I have bad RNG. Almost. Maybe 80% i got bad RNG when encountered with them. Thats why i dont like it. I can guess too that in this battle it will be the same the RNG is not work properly at all. But fortunately this time opponent using Kelya as summoner, It should be my team is superior than opponent since opponent team line up will get debuff from my Summoner. But lets see how the battle going

Round 1

Screenshot (3299).png

As usual in round 1 both parties got buff and debuff from both summoners and monster.
In my team got 2 speed buff from my Supply Runner and Naga Assasin ability Swiftness. 1 Additional Health buff from my Supply Runner Strengthen.
In opponent team got

  • 1 Speed Debuff from my Summoner Quix the Devious
  • 1 Range Attack debuff from my Summoner Quix the Devious
  • 1 Speed Buff from opponent Summoner Kelya Frendul
  • 1 Armor Buff from opponent Summoner kelya Frendul
  • 1 Speed Buff from opponent Supply Runner ability Swiftness
  • 1 Health Buff from opponent Supply Runner ability Strengthen

After buff and debuff stuff, then the battle begin. In this round opponent defeated my Venari Marksrat and after died my Gargoya Devil got buffed. And after my Gargoya Devil got buffed, my Gargoya Devil defeated opponent Gargoya Devil and make opponent Merdhampir going forward. And opponent Angelic Mandarin and Merdhampir broke my Gargoya Devil armor and opponent Merdhampir snared my Gargoya Devil to ground.

Round 2

Screenshot (3300).png

In round 2 my team can defeated opponent Merdhampir. But, in this round too, opponent team can defeated my Gargoya Devil. By looking the line up, i think my line up still stronger than opponent since my total monster left is much more than opponent line up. And my team total health is in high amount. So, i think my team still can win this battle. But looking the speed different, my team just faster 1 speed than opponent team. That will make my calculation broken. And i think the RNG will not counting 1 speed different.

Round 3

Screenshot (3301).png

In round 3 combination attack from Naga Assassin,Supply Runner and Angelic Mandarin defeated opponent Angelic Mandarin in this round. And fortunately total opponent attack just 5 damage that make my Naga Assassin still have 1 remain health after got attacked. And yeah 1-2 speed different will not activated the RNG in this battle.

Round 4

Screenshot (3302).png

In round 4 still my team combination attack can defeated opponetn Kulu Swimhunter. And it makes opponent just leaving Supply Runner in this round. And in this round too opponent Supply Runner defeated my Naga Assassin this time and it reduces my team speed since one of the swiftness ability gone.

Round 5

Screenshot (3303).png

Okay it is really weird. See, right?? 1 speed different my attack can miss. Opponent accuracy 100%. Thats weird or thats scripted?
since i said earlier. Almost when encountered with this guild player, my RNG is really bad. Coincedence or ?? Okay maybe just coincedence that always encountered with this guild that my RNG was bad. And yeah in this round my team can defeat opponent Supply Runner.

Conclution

After experiencing this battle i can said that yeah speed is one of the important basic in Splinterlands battle. The logic is if we can defeated opponent first, it will having higher chance can win the battle. The faster we killed opponent, it will make opponent losing the strengh and power to fight back. And yeah it should make the faster team will having chance to dodging the attack. But, sometimes yeah the RNG is not working. And you can check the guild. and the names in modern format. It just a few bunch people that having GOD RNG. That almost not affected with the RNG.
