Betrayed
“I must divorce him certainly,” Theresa said to herself, but then her best friend, Aduma, was right behind the door, wanting to knock. After hearing that statement, she decided to hold on just to hear more of Theresa’s words. “Has he taken me for a fool? Why on earth will he decide to go after my best friend?” Theresa continued as she was just talking to herself.
Meanwhile, Aduma, after hearing the statement, decided to take an U-turn without bothering to enter.
“I think Sam is being followed. How did his wife get to know about our relationship? I need to call him just to have a plan B and also to know how to handle his wife”, Aduma shockingly said to herself as she sneaked out of the compound without the knowledge of her best friend.
As Sam closed from work, his phone was on silent. Aduma tried to call several times, but he did not answer the call. “Or, should I just go to his office?” Aduma was contemplating as she was so worried about what would happen when Sam got home.
Aduma tried Sam's phone number yet again just to be sure if he was going to answer his call this time, but to her surprise, the phone rang without Sam answering the calls. She tried several times.
Theresa also tried to call Sam, just to be sure of his whereabouts. She called without Sam answering. She tried again, while Aduma was also attempting to call Sam. After a while, Theresa called and Aduma’s call interceded. Theresa concluded that his husband was answering Aduma's call, leaving her calls behind. “I will show him that I'm Theresa when he comes back to this house,” Theresa furiously said while she took her car keys and headed to the market just to get some foodstuff. On her way, she sighted Aduma driving from her abode.
“Where is she headed to? Or is she going to meet with my husband?” Theresa said to herself while she followed her.
As Aduma drove to some extent, she sighted Theresa's car through her side mirror. “I think I'm being followed. I need to confuse Theresa, or else she will follow me to her husband's office”, Aduma said to herself as she diverted to another direction. She parked her car and entered a supermarket just to make sure Theresa drove off. “Is as if she had driven off. I need to be sure before going to meet with Sam”, Aduma said to herself.

Twenty minutes later, Aduma tried Sam's phone number but was not answering. “Or, should it be that Sam has gone to our usual meeting point?” She soliloquizes.“I have to go to our meeting point just to be certain before this woman catches me red-handed,” she continued.
Meanwhile, Theresa had to park her car in a car wash very close to the supermarket while she was just observing to see if Aduma had left. She called the car valet and asked him to rent his car to her and also be her driver just to trace someone. Being a regular customer, he rented the car and agreed to be her driver. Now, she began to observe clearly if Aduma had left, while Aduma was also being careful just to ensure she was not being followed this time.
Ten minutes later, Aduma sent in someone to help her drive her car from that spot, while Theresa was observing from a close range… “She thought I was a fool, right? I must get to the root of this today”, Theresa opened up.
After another five minutes, Aduma drove her car through the back path while Theresa had sighted her leaving. She told the guy to follow Aduma from behind as she sat in the back seat.
Aduma drove to a bar and highlighted. At a point, she observed critically just to be sure she was not being followed. Five minutes later, Theresa came down from the car as she traced Aduma to the bar. Meanwhile, she sighted her husband's car parked along the road. “wow! I said it”, she spoke out furiously.
She entered the bar and saw Aduma and Sam together, although they did not notice her presence. She drew closer to where the two were seated and greeted them two. “Well done to the two of you.” they were shocked and left with no words.
“How did you know I'm here?” Aduma was surprised to see Theresa.
“I can explain”, Sam said as his mouth was dancing just as if he had eaten hot food.
“I have known before now and had promised to divorce you when you come home. Even when I was talking this morning, the one who called herself my best friend was right by the doorstep. She had thought I did not see her. I said what I had to say just because of her presence this morning”, Theresa opened up. “But how did you find out?” Sam asked. “Why did you ask, and why did you want to know? You cheated,” Theresa said furiously.“You know that nothing is hidden under this earth that cannot be revealed. I saw her text in your phone yesterday and your response to her message”, Theresa replied.
Meanwhile, Aduma kept quiet without saying a word as she was just too ashamed of herself. “This fool that called herself my best friend was busy flirting with my husband. Don't worry, you will have time for yourself after our divorce”, Theresa said.
Theresa wanted to take a firm grip on Aduma, but she stylishly escaped and ran out of the bar shamefully. Theresa had to leave angrily as Sam began to beg her to forgive him. “it will not happen again. Your friend lured me to commit this sin”, Sam voiced out. Theresa called the valet and drove off. She settled him and took her car home. As she got home, she began to pack her belongings when Sam entered and began to shed crocodile tears. After some hours of apologizing, Aduma had to alert her mother-in-law and tell her everything that had happened. She begged Aduma to hold on to her. She got prepared and headed for her son's abode the next day.
Her mother-in-law talked to Sam so much that he began to shed tears. “my daughter, please, I support your leaving," she pretended and was trying to observe what her son would say. “Don't say that, mom; help me beg her. I don't want her to leave," Sam said.
After deep thoughts, Theresa decided to heed her mother-in-law’s words and stayed, but warned Sam never to try that again. She later cut all ties with Aduma.
That's the worst kind of betrayal. Your friend cheating in you with your husband. I'm sure it hurt Theresa so bad.
Its not the best and one must run from a friend like this.
There is a very true phrase that says, 'with friends like that, who needs enemies?' The girl was disloyal to her friend and wanted to destroy her home. Everything ended well, the couple stayed together and the dishonest friend was out of both of their lives.
Thanks for sharing your story.
