Maybe you are not as bad as you think
For a couple of seasons I'm struggling with Splinterlands. I have the feeling I have always very strong opponents, my win rate is low and it's especially difficult to climb the ranking.
I finished last season in Diamond 1 and started in Gold 1. After 6 days, in the season and more than 180 games, I just hardly got out of Gold 1.
Am I so bad? Are the opponents getting better? Are the bots becoming much stronger? What is the reason for my struggles? I try to answer these questions in the video

Splinterlands is increasingly becoming difficult. It has become very competitive. Maybe you just don't suck. I myself have been stuck at Gold III. I'm not able to climb to even gold II
i am struggling to get out of Silver II.. i think the bots have invaded the silver leagues.
I doubt those are really bots because their lineups are always great and outperforms ours.
I even rented the best cards and kept losing. Lol
It's such a downer. I'm holding on not to play for a while and returning at another time to see if I can get better fixtures. Are you getting some of the Runis
I didnt check these Runis yet, they sound special though. Will you get one?
Yes, i have already linked my eth wallet and I'm alert for the whitelist. I don't want to miss out on this one
i need to get a move on then! me too.
I think that people who used to play in gold are now in silver because the algorithm tends to push people down. It means that everybody is having a more difficult time to climb up.
Yeah, I've seen some good decks but also I've made some terrible tactical blunders 🙈
It's pretty hard to progress at the moment but it seems its the same for everybody and the reason in my opinion is the algorithm that pushes everybody down.
I've been renting the best cards to stay in Gold III leagues.

It almost becomes necessary to rent powerful cards just to stay in the league...
I think there are lesser players now because the casual players might have left the game, which means only the serious ones are left. That's why it gets more difficult.
I play much lesser and chose to rent my cards out instead, because it doesn't make sense to play in Silver anymore. Am getting around 0.1 to 0.2 SPS per win - it's used to be around 0.5 SPS per win because the proposal. I think one has to play minimally in Gold to make it worthwhile (otherwise renting out the cards is much better from an economical perspective).
I just did one fight, here's a screenshot for the rewards in Silver 2.
The more difficult the algorithm makes climbing, the more people will be in bronze and silver and the pot there will be distributed among more people. Peanuts for the majority and big payouts for the few stars of the game.
Yes it appears that things have changed in the game to make it harder to level up.
Also the number of battles compared to one month ago is about 60%. I find I play against oponents that are 500-700 points below me most of the time and thus get +10 rating on a win and -36 on a loss. Most are playing level 1-2 cards in Silver 1. I think most are bots.
Struggling to get into Gold 3 where maybe the payouts will be higher. But it sounds like there might be an extremely large group in gold also. Payouts dropped by 50% with the new change to rewards pools in Silver.

The more difficult it gets to climb, the less you win, the less people will play the game. This opens the field for people who play all the same :-)
Just got into Gold 3 Being ranked 1807 in gold(Modern) leads me to think there are not that many people playing. I am surprised the payout didn't jump when I moved from Silver to Gold.
I am getting more due to higher rating but per rating point it still seems to be about the same as before.

I agree there are a set of players that are long term dedicated. I like it to be more competitive against your level set of cards.

Splinterlands is hard in gold rank but I occasionally get some weaker bots in Silver rank so I don't mind staying in Silver until near the end of the season. However, I do agree that it is harder to go up in ranks and I even gave up on getting to Gold I last season.

I have the feeling that the algorithm let's us play weaker oponenents. When we win we get +10 rating but when we lose, we lose much more. That's probably why, it's so difficult to climb.
