DRAGONS and EARTHQUAKES

We are all winners!

When I read through battle reports on Splintertalk it seems like we are all winners. The reality is different of course : for every winner there is a loser. When I look at my own stats I win about as much as I lose. And that's not only due to my very first beginnings at Splinterlands in which I was just messing around without any clue.

So today a blog about losing. And that's where the DRAGON splinter comes in handy in my case.
Losing is annoying, but I'm trying to learn something from it and believe me, I've been learning a lot lately. Actually, only very recently I bought a decent DRAGON summoner. A level 3 DRAKE OF ARNAK gives me more opportunities to experiment with the DRAGONS So that's what I'm doing now, for example in this Earthquake fight against @nevashia

As I mentioned I am very inexperienced with DRAGON so I had no idea what my chances were, but seeing a Void Tank with some heavy melee guns behind it made me suspect the worst against my team that relied heavily on magic. First let me tell you a little bit about my line-up:

The Line-up

SUMMONER DRAKE OF ARNAK (LVL3) - The Earthquake rules and medium high mana demandsseemed appropriate for this summoner as DRAGON has many high mana cards. With the extra shield I should be able to withstand an extra round earthquake.
1st ALBATROS - Filler card that should give the real tank an extra turn of air and maybe more if it manages to dodge an attack.
2nd VOID DRAGON - Fast small sized tank with Void, ideal against magic units (often used in the Earthquake ruleset to evade the shields).
3rd ZYVAX VUUL - Another swift dragon with wings, may lack some firepower.
4th SEA GENIE - Supporting flying spirit with magical powers.
5th ICE PIXIE - Supporting flying pixie with magical powers.
6th CHAOS DRAGON - Bad-ass dragon that randomly spits large magic balls at the opponent.

It ended up being a pretty hopeless and justified defeat. Also not completely unexpected when I walk through the line up again.

Next time...

I clearly wanted to start with as many bad-ass dragons as possible. I should have focused on more firepower and less looking at flying units. In fact, I had chosen this summoner to be less dependent on wings, so afterwards I don't understand myself. In any case, you are always dependent on your opponent and he had better tactics in this case. Next time I'll make it harder for him.

LORE: The DRAKE OF ARNAK is a medium-sized Dragon hybrid. He is highly intelligent and extremely rich, but cannot fly nor breathe fire. All his life he has honed his skills as a summoner, hoping to win a share of the glory that should rightfully be his as a carrier of the fire blood. The Drake's trademark is that his monsters are summoned to battle with a thin force field of blue fire, fortifying their defenses. Forms have been filed by the High Council to formally request that the DRAKE OF ARNAK hand over his secrets for the good of the united Gloridax, but he will not give up his proprietary magic without a fight. The Drake of Arnak is the Gloridax rival of Daria Dragonscale; the two despise one another.
