5 Biggest Takeaways From The Town Hall (10.17.2024)
In this video, I discuss the 5 biggest takeaways that I have from the most recent Splinterlands town hall. This is not a full recap or summary, just the top items I thought were worth noting and sharing with you.
Here is the breakdown:
- New Marketing Members
The team has brought on Blaze, a community member, to spearhead the marketing efforts for the team and start utilizing the funds we've received from the DHF proposal. The team is also in talks to bring on a former marketing expert from the Illuvium team which could be fantastic. Finally, some of the DHF funds are ear-marked to go towards wrapping the mobile version of the game into an app and getting it back in App stores.
- 10/29 update
The 100 Day Auction promo is aiming for this date as well as the Gold Foil rarity draws.
- Glamour
As Nate stated, Glamour is on deck and almost ready to go. This gives me optimism we will actually see it in 2024 considering Land 1.75 has been pushed to next year and the Conclave Arcana proposal has confirmed we most likely will not get a mini set this year. I like that there will be utility associated with it and look forward to seeing what the team can do to spice up the game in this way.
- Hardcore Mode
We didn't get much information out of this outside of knowing it will be a way for players to utilize all their cards (giving old cards value) and also use extra copies of cards. It seems this may still be in concept and design phase but if this is a new game mode the team can launch in the next 4-6 months it could add a lot of economic value to the game ecosystem.
- Runi Evergreen in Modern
There was a comment stating that Runi should be a card that stays in Modern Format forever and Matt seemed quite on board with it. Considering that Runi is a marketing channel to the entire ETH NFT community I think this would be a fantastic idea and hope we see a proposal to push for it.
Overall, I thought it was a fantastic town hall and I'm very excited to see what Splinterlands can accomplish over the next couple of months. Combine this with a bulish sentiment around bitcoin and the overall bull market and things could get very exciting!
