Hola comunidad, hoy he querido participar en el concurso de @splinterlands con algo que me encanta hacer: retratos, en esta ocasión elegí la carta de Vera Salacia, elegí esta carta porque me pareció genial para poder desarrollarla de una manera diferente, pero manteniendo su esencia, donde los tonos azules y su ropa se asemejan a la original. Para este dibujo mi idea era realizar un retrato realista, pero intentando mantener un poco el vestuario original, para el fondo quise simular agua alrededor de ella como si estuviese flotando sobre el mar, para este mar, dibuje muchas líneas con diferentes tonos de azul y blanco haciéndolo lucir bastante similar a las olas de la imagen original, también quise incluir un poco de amarillo asi que dibuje una especie de maquillaje con algunos tonos amarillos y azules, esta combinación no es una de mis favoritas pero en esta oportunidad me encanto usarla, hace un contraste bastante interesante, espero que les guste mi versión de Vera Salacia 💙💛

Hello community, today I wanted to participate in the @splinterlands art contest with something that I love to do: portraits, this time I chose Vera Salacia card, I chose this card because I thought it was great to be able to develop it in a different way, but keeping her essence, where the blue tones and her clothes resemble the original.
For this drawing my idea was to make a realistic portrait, but trying to keep the original costume a bit, for the background I wanted to simulate water around her as if she were floating on the sea, for this sea, I drew many lines with different shades of blue and white making it look quite similar to the waves in the original image, I also wanted to include a bit of yellow so I drew a kind of makeup with some yellow and blue tones, this combination is not one of my favorites but this time I loved using it, makes quite an interesting contrast, I hope you like my version of Vera Salacia 💙💛.

Proceso/Process

Para comenzar, realice mi boceto, solo realice el boceto del rostro ya que hice las líneas de agua alrededor de ella y me confundía demasiado a la hora de pintar, asi que decidí pintar todo eso después guiándome por la forma de las olas originales, elegí una paleta de colores de tonos piel y comencé a pintar todo el rostro y brazos, en una nueva capa comencé a mezclar los tonos creando el rostro con una textura suave, para la ropa elegí tonos similares a la original pero tomando tonos un poco mas desaturados, como color de base para el cabello elegi un azul claro.

To start, I made my sketch, I only made the sketch of the face since I made the lines of water around her and it confused me too much when i was painting, so I decided to paint all that after guiding myself by the shape of the original waves, I chose a color palette of skin tones and I began to paint the entire face and arms, in a new layer I began to mix the tones creating the face with a soft texture, for the clothes I chose tones similar to the original but taking slightly more desaturated tones, as a base color for the hair I chose a light blue.

Comencé a pintar la ropa con otros tonos oscuros y claros para luego ocuparme del resto de detalles del rostro dibujando las cejas, pestañas, y arreglando un poco mas las texturas del rostro, para el cabello use diferentes tonos de azules claros y oscuros para darle movimiento a cada mechón de cabello. Ahora comencé a ocuparme del fondo, primero aplique un tono base azul y luego un poco de azul mas oscuro en las esquinas, en una nueva capa comencé a pintar líneas oscuras y claras que simulan la textura de esta agua, aplique mas color al rostro y ojos, haciendo que sus ojos fuesen mas brillantes.

I began to paint the clothes with other dark and light tones and then take care of the rest of the details of the fase: drawing the eyebrows, eyelashes, and fixing the textures of the face a little more, for the hair I used different shades of light and dark blue to give it movement to each strand of hair.
Now I started to deal with the background, first I applied a blue base tone and then a little darker blue in the corners, in a new layer I started to paint dark and light lines that simulate the texture of this water, I applied more color to the face and eyes, making her eyes brighter.

Aplique más líneas al fondo usando blanco y azul claro, y encima de toda la imagen coloque una capa con el efecto de “overlay” y una opacidad del 50% use un tono azul oscuro y borre parte de esta capa haciendo que rodeara su silueta para simular que ella esta “hundida en el agua” para darle mas realismo a esta agua, pinte es las esquinas que borre con un poco de blanco, realice pequeños puntos de luz que simulan el agua haciendo contacto con su piel, también pinte algunas ondas alrededor de ella, finalmente aplique una capa de “screen” realizando pequeños puntos de luz en el rostro, ojos, piel en general, ahora aplique un ajuste de color, intensidad y saturación sobre todo el dibujo para que luciese mas impactante, note que la carta tiene algunos tonos morados, me encanta usar morado con azul asi que agregue una tenue luz morada en una esquina del dibujo.

Apply more lines to the background using white and light blue, and on top of the whole image place a layer with the effect of “overlay” and an opacity of 50% use a dark blue tone and erase part of this layer making it surround her silhouette to simulate that she is "sunk in the water" to give this water more realism, paint the corners that i erased with a little white, make small points of light that simulate the water making contact with her skin, also paint some waves around her, finally apply a layer of "screen" making small points of light on the face, eyes, skin in general, now apply a color, intensity and saturation adjustment on the entire drawing to make it look more impressive, i noticed that this card has some purple tones, I love to use purple with blue so I added a soft purple highlight in one corner of the drawing.

lol yes, it was quite difficult to achieve a realistic texture for the water and at the same time make it look like the waves of the original card, we could say that it is luminous water 😂
