Splinterlands Art Contest - Week 292 - Flame Mephit

Hello, everybody. Today, I present another Fanart - an entry for the Splinterlands Art Contest. So without further ado, let's get to the nitty-gritty of this particular piece.

This week, I wanted to try drawing something a little further from my comfort zone, so I chose to draw Flame Mephit. Darker skin tones are not my usual go-to when drawing characters and Fanarts - even tho I do other skin colors like blue and gray - so I thought it would be a good idea to try her for a challenge. The last time I did her was a dozen weeks ago, so it was the perfect opportunity to try something new and see how my improved hair drawing techniques look on her.

Since her hair is made of flames in the original game art, I thought it'd be a good idea to give her blonde hair, and naturally, it looked so nice on her, so I stuck with that.

As for the background, I chose a black one to go in contrast with her hair, but it looked all too plain and boring, that's why I added a ton of glow and little lights behind her to brighten the mood and make everything look vibrant. (not to mention glowing up her eyes and hair as well).

That's it for today's drawing and I'll see you in the next week's submission post... cheers~
