Changes are good so far in Splinterlands Ranked Battles

There has been a major change in the ranked battle after the end of last season in the Splinterlands game. I think changes are used after some time and the team at splinterlands has done it. Initially, it takes some time to understand and get familiar with the change but later on in most cases, this change is good provided there has to be some homework done before we implement the same. I have always experienced that the team behind this game is always focused on the community side hence whatever they are proposing as a change is only shared once they are satisfied with the outcome. It's like an overhaul of ranked battles in the game and so far this is going well.

There will no longer be leaderboards for any league except the Champion

With the new change, leaderboards as per league have been removed. Also NOW the ranking will increase with each winning battle and one we lose the battle then it will reduce the rating by 20 points. This change is good because ALL the cards can be used in any league because technically there is no league except for the champion and I know that champion is something I can't play NOW with my current card set. This change is also good for the new players in the game because now they will not be penalised for holding low-level cards which was an earlier part of the game. We need more new users in the game but before we TRY to onboard we also need to make some changes to make things easy for them and now I'll have to say that the team has made this change which is good for the newcomers.

Players will no longer be able to choose not to advance to a higher league (since leagues will just represent a rating range)

I'm trying to keep my energy level around 20 and as of now, I have a 2550 rating which indicates that I am playing in the gold League. I have been playing in Diamond for a long and with Diamond 3 I get the multiple of 12X reward multiplier as per my sps token holding. Although I am trying to increase my SPS holding faster so that even with diamond one I can play well with the 12x multiplier.

The leaks are indicative and this is why we know that actually where we are playing but with the new change, we need not select whether we want to move to the Next league or not because it will be done by the game itself. Since there is no leaderboard this league concept is also not valid however this is just indicative and maybe later the team will remove it. One of the best parts about this change is that I can use all my cards with full capability across the battles without dealing with the penalty. Earlier I was not able to use my cards on silver League because I hold most of the cards on level 5 and above and I was getting the penalty.

The crypto market is doing great and possibly the alt-coin rally is also going to start soon. This cycle is going to be a bit longer I expect and once to play-to-earn game segment starts growing then expect more players to be part of the game. We need to be ready to deal with that kind of onboarding on the project and that is why such changes are necessary and beneficial for the project. As an existing player, I enjoy this change and so far I have not faced any issues which means that the team has done a fantastic job on the change implementation. There are many changes that the team has planned and we will go through such changes in phases but this is one of the biggest that they have already implemented without any issues on the game front end. This change has improved the overall gaming experience from my point of view and I'm happy to have this change done in the game now.

I believe we still have time to build a good holding in the game and I'm trying to do the same with the SPS coin before things start to grow significantly. Again it's not financial advice but all I'm saying is my experience and my planning with the game however if you are interested and want to grow your account then please do your research before doing it. All I can say is that the game is fun and I'm happy to invest more in different assets within the game ecosystem.
