Where is DEC token Heading?

Dark Energy Crystals or DEC is one of the tokens in splinterlands game. Although this token is not part of the reward pool but still there is a lot in the game where this token plays an important role and we cannot earn dec through any ways within the game. I mean to say that we have various ways to spend Dec and buy different assets including cards or the booster packs and even many other stuffs but as of now there is no option that can make you earn this token in the game. It is because this has been taken out from the reward pool so this way you have no option left that can pay you dec.

The only way out we have with us to earn DEC is from the rental market and this market is for both the types including the cards rental and SPS rental market. if you rent out your cards on the market then you will be able to earn this token and similarly if you lease out your SPS power then also you have the option to earn DEC so as of now these are the only options available that can get you some DEC tokens. This token is available on the market so we always have the option to buy whatever amount we want because there is a lot of liquidity in the market and even in hive-engine we can buy a bigger amount. the question is that do you think this token is still valuable in the game or not? The simple answer is yes, it is a valuable stuff in the game and especially after the lands it is going to be even more valuable.

Where is DEC Heading

It's been a while and I did not check the price for dec token, so I thought of doing it today. the reason why I did not check because I do not do anything with this token in the game as of now and if I need to buy something like cards then I prefer to use credits for the same because I can get this added using hbd. I visited the coin market cap website to check out the price and even in the high engine to see how the price trend has been going on.

Here is the snapshot of the price for the period of one month and the all-time high during this time we can see is almost 0.00088 which is like we can get 1000 DEC for $0.88. This is a stablecoin in the game and the price should be$1 for 1000 tokens so if we look at the highest price during this time then it was much closer to its required price mark. Although it was still there with the gap of 12% but the current price is even far from the required level.

Here is another snapshot where I have calculated the price for 1000 Dec and as you can see that the price is $0.79. I have also taken the historical performance for this token, and it was available at its all-time high price in the year 2021 which was like crazy. I would like to mention here that it was the time when SPS airdrop was launched and DEC token played an important role in the points calculation, so people were buying this token as much as possible to grab more SPS and that time sps price was also very good.

DEC Token Utility

There is a lot of utility of the token in the game and we have a lot to buy here. It is good because when we get more options to use the token for various stuff in the game then it is like value addition, and it does not make any difference whether it is part of the reward pool or not instead somewhere it is good because people will not be getting free tokens. Now since SPS is the part of the reward pool so there are lot of people who must be selling off to book some profit if they are earning good from the reward.

Although I'm not sure but I have gone through couple of posts and updates in the past that DEC will be much needed in lands and even its not enough for everyone. I don't know how things will work after the lands gone live and even there is no clarity whether my assets will be enough to take part in lands, so we need to wait for some time unless the clarity is provided by the team.

I have some DEC and DEC-B both available in my game account and I will hold both to see how I can use them in lands. I wanted to buy some DEC but then I shifted my focus back to SPS because I believe that is more important as of now however because of the price increase I had to put a pause on my buying.

I also tried the rental with my SPS power through which I got a few thousand DEC so maybe later I can explore this even more but as of now I have no plan to buy anymore dec instead more focus will remain on sps. Even if I don't buy anymore from the market then also I'm not going to sell anything because my holding is just kept idle to see how things will be post lands coming live and then what will be the use case for this and how can I use it to get better options or better profitability in the game. I have already used some during the deed registration so I expect that there will be better benefits for the people who hold more DEC but we need to wait for that.
