Solitaire Schach und herausgefordert sein

Noch tue ich mich schwer mit Splinterlands, und darum mag ich hier gleich noch ein ganz anderes Spiel zeigen. Im Ligabetrieb komme ich nur schwer aus Bronze III raus und spiele offenbar die ganze Zeit gegen irgendwelche Bots. Die Nummern und Namen jedenfalls deuten darauf hin. Doch ich will mich nicht beschweren!

Dank der Blogging-Erfolge habe ich in der Gilde leicht eine Verdopplung aller Beiträge für die Arena anbieten können. Dabei kamen 6901 DEC zusammen, die ich verdoppelte auf 13805 für die Arena. (Ja, ganz richtig, ich hatte mich an einer Stelle verrechnet. Doch zu euren Gunsten.) Das hat für das nächste Level noch nicht gereicht, doch es muss ja nicht bei dieser Aktion geblieben sein.

Die Social Media Herausforderung will ich weiter annehmen, doch mir reicht grad ein Beitrag für diese Woche, und hier darf es jetzt auch um etwas anderes gehen, als nur online. Und darum will euch zeigen, was ich schon so lange zeigen wollte:

Solitaire Schach

Es ist kein Schachspiel. Das sagen die Spieleentwickler ganz deutlich in der Anleitung. Doch es macht sich die Regeln von Schach zu nutze und ist quasi ein Knobelspiel. Sehr ähnlich einer App, doch ohne Strom dank der Pappeinschübe. Und so lässt es sich ganz sicher leicht auch mit eigenen Puzzeln und eigenen Figuren spielen.

Hier handelt es sich um 60 Level in vier farblich gekennzeichneten Kategorien: Beginner, fortgeschrittener Anfänger, Fortgeschritten und Experte.

Auf den Karten sind Puzzle, und um diese zu lösen gibt es zwei Regeln:

• jeder Zug muss eine andere Figur schlagen
• wenn nur eine Figur übrig bleibt, ist das Puzzle gelöst

Dabei wird niemals der König geschlagen, ist ja klar. Wer schlägt schon Köige, und mit welchem Ziel? Der König ist jedoch nur in wenigen Rätseln beteiligt. Mehr will ich gar nicht sagen, denn das Knobeln hat seinen Reiz tatsächlich nur, wenn man alleine drauf kommt.

Es ist ein Spiel zum alleine spielen. Doch wie auf dem Bild zu sehen, ist es ein Spiel, das auf den Kaffee-Tisch passt. Und es ist eine wahre Freude, gerade wenn die jungen Menschen ein Puzzle sehen und sofort beginnen, es im Kopf zu lösen. Wenn alle Beteiligten die Lösung hatten, lösten wir gemeinsam auf. Und auf zum nächsten Level.

Hier notiert sich jeder seine letzte Karten-Nummer und so bewegen wir uns grad durch die Kategorien, wenn mal eine Gelegenheit dazu ist. Bei 32 sind wir bereits.

Das Spiel fand ich in einer Bibliothek. Wenn jemand eines zum Verkauf findet: Ich bin interessiert.

Zu guter Letzt will ich hier nun meinen einzigen Sieg der vorherigen Rauferei teilen. Wieder mal nur einer, doch ich beginne mich besser zu orientieren. Starke Karten machen das Spiel freilich aus. Für die laufende Rauferei kühlen die Karten grad noch ab, die ich spielen darf, und auf diese Gelegenheit freue ich mich schon.

I'm still struggling with Splinterlands, so I'd like to show you a completely different game in a moment. In league play, I have a hard time getting out of Bronze III and apparently play against some bots all the time. At least the numbers and names indicate that. But I don't want to complain!

Thanks to blogging results, I was easily able to offer a doubling of all contributions to the arena in the guild. This brought in 6901 DEC, which I doubled to 13805 for the arena. (Yes, that's right, I had miscalculated at one point. But in your favor.) That wasn't enough for the next level, but it doesn't have to end there.

I want to continue with the social media challenge, but one post is enough for me for this week, and now it should be about something else than just online. And that's why I want to show you what I wanted to show for so long:

Solitaire Chess

It is not a chess game. The game developers state that quite clearly in the instructions. But it makes use of the rules of chess and is more or less a puzzle game. Very similar to an app, but without electricity thanks to the cardboard inserts. And so it's certainly easy to play with your own puzzles and your own pieces.

Here we are talking about 60 levels in four color-coded categories: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Expert.

On the cards are puzzles, and to solve them there are two rules:

• each move must hit another piece
• if only one piece remains, the puzzle is solved

Of course, the king is never beaten. Who beats kings, and with what intention? However, the king is only involved in a few puzzles. I don't want to say more than that, because the puzzle really only has its charm when you figure it out on your own.

It is a game to play alone. But as you can see in the picture, it is a game that fits on the coffee table. And it's a real joy, especially when young people see a puzzle and immediately start solving it in their heads. When everyone had the solution, we solved it together. And on to the next level.

Here, everyone notes down their last card number and so we move through the categories as we go. We are already at 32.

I found the game in a library. If someone finds one for sale: I am interested.

Last but not least, I want to share here my only victory in the previous brawl. Again, only one, but I'm starting to get better oriented. Strong cards certainly make the game. For the ongoing brawl, the cards I get to play are just cooling for me, and I'm looking forward to that opportunity.
