Introduction

This week's media challenge is all about Glint—one of the most significant improvements for Splinterlands players in my opinion. In this post, I'll explain why Glint has been a game-changer and how I make the most of it when spending my own Glint.

In a previous post, I provided in-depth calculations on the most cost-efficient way to max out a set using Glint.

Here's a quick summary of the findings:

Total Estimated Glint Required for Maxing Out Sets:

Minor Chests: 40,000,000 Glint required.
Major Chests: 20,000,000 Glint required.
Ultimate Chests: 56,250,000 Glint required.

If your focus is solely on collecting cards, and you choose to disregard the value of potions, merits, energy, or jackpot prizes, it will cost 8,799,000 Glint to complete every rarity.

For a more detailed breakdown of how I arrived at these figures, check out my earlier post:
Most Cost-Efficient Method to Spend Your Glint.

Why Glint is a Game-Changer

One of my favorite aspects of Glint is the flexibility it offers.
You can choose to spend it in ways that suit your style—whether it's buying chests, focusing on rarity draws, or even purchasing energy.

The cards are soulbound, meaning they have no immediate trade value but can be unlocked over time. Alternatively, if you wish to cash out early, you can unlock cards instantly by spending DEC at 20 times the burn rate and try to sell them for that premium price.
When the set (rebellion soulbound reward set) is out of print this will go to 10x and over 180 days it increases to 20x again.

This gives players options. You can choose to play, earn, and keep your cards, or, if you’re a whale or collector, you can pay the premium to get them instantly. It’s a system that caters to both play-to-earn enthusiasts and those willing to invest financially.

I love that balance.

My Glint Spending Strategy

In a previous post, I outlined my strategy, which focuses on buying Epic draws and Major chests while skipping the rest. Let’s see how it’s going!

In the past few seasons, I earned approximately 400K Glint, which allowed me to purchase the first batch of Epic draws, Major chests, and Minor chests.

Here are the results from my last two seasons:

Instead of showing all the cards I earned (which would require too many images), I’ve used the handy tool on Splintercards website to give you an overview of my current collection.

As expected, my Epics are coming in nicely, although my Legendary drops have been a bit below my expectations. The grind continues!

Conclusion

Glint has opened up new opportunities for Splinterlands players, offering flexibility and rewards that can be tailored to individual playstyles. Whether you're a collector aiming to complete sets or a player looking to boost your in-game performance by targeting specific draws, knowing how to spend your Glint wisely is key to maximizing its value.

From my own experience, focusing on the right chests/draws based on your goals can make a significant difference. For newer players, I recommend balancing your spending between card accumulation and in-game resources like merits/potions and energy.
This will help you progress steadily without feeling overwhelmed. For veterans, targeting rarer chests like legendary draws or ultimate chest can yield greater rewards in the long run, but always keep an eye on your overall Glint efficiency.

That being said the greatness of Glint lies in there is no right way todo its your own journey.
Whether you’re looking to play and earn with low financial commitment or unlock your cards early for a premium, there’s no single "correct" strategy—only the one that works best for you.

Good luck, and may your Glint spending bring you powerful cards and exciting rewards!

That's all for this week hope you enjoyed reading this. See you all on the battlefield.
