Interview with @ultm8x
Hello everyone!! π»π»π»
This adventure is allowing me to travel around the world thanks to the resources offered by #Hive and Web3.0. Every day I am more and more convinced of the strength of the project. Behind each person I am interviewing is an entrepreneur in the blockchain world, willing to collaborate and share. As I've said many times before, #Splinterlands and #Hive are made for each other.
For this Friday night (like the Friday Night show :) ) we will travel to the Philippines, where one of the successful examples of this game lives thanks to two factors: perseverance and content creation.
His name is @ultm8x and from this space, I would like to encourage everyone to follow his play2earn channel:
Hey @ultm8x !! good morning in Barcelona and good evening in the Philippines! Shall you introduce yourself to the readers?
Morning to you! I am from the west coast of Luzon Island, from its capital called Vigan. Almost 50.000 citizens live there. I love playing all kinds of video games and basketball as a sport. I work as a sales vendor and discovered #play2earn games during the pandemic while looking for other ways to increase my income.
The pandemic has boosted the notoriety of the entire crypto world and consequently the #play2earn. Did you lose your job or did you manage to keep it?
I was lucky to be able to keep it all this time, although we all have relatives and loved ones who have not. I just wanted to find ways to diversify my sources of income. I started to learn about Axie Infinity. The initial investment is not cheap so I continued with the search. Until I got to the fantastic world of #Splinterlands.
Wow that sounds cool. Lower entry fees than Axie. Was it only for entry fees or did you like more things about Splinterlands?
I was a noob in terms of the game for a few seasons. I was just waiting for the end of the season to open 5 rewards chests. Then I started joining discord servers and learning more about the game. As I joined servers, I learned that there are more ways to earn for splinterlands. That is why I was more focused on blogs rather than battles and gameplays. Some of my content made up to be a big hit/trend so I pushed on daily blogs. A friend of mine from the game, @xacex then recommended that I transition to Youtube since my content is similar to tutorials about the game splinterlands.
From using hive engine, keychain and trading. Thatβs the reason why I made videos so that players would understand easier how to transfer or convert those tokens.
That's true life! #Hive and #Splinterlands have achieved something that would seem impossible to me. Prefer writing, posting, and creating content about a game than playing. The way that the blockchain rewards good content offers opportunities and encourages people like you and me to get involved in ways we never thought would be real...
Yeah! But I never miss my daily quests. Looking for every single card I can win! I've been lucky in content curation and received almost $100 in some posts. I have reinvested my earnings into cards, SPS, and DEC
These are significant profits for good quality content. Could you explain to me your initial investment, how you organize, and the result of your work in terms of Card Power and card value?
I landed in Splinterlands in June 2021, not knowing much about the crypto world. I was just doing some USDT trading. I bought the Spellbook and used a $20 iTunes Gift. From this point on I focused on finding ways to learn the mechanics of the game and how to increase my income. I started creating content: I publish my posts on Peakd, with the tags #spt and #oneup to boost revenue. I also have my video content on Youtube and 3Speak. In all this time I have been able to accumulate 63K CP and $1,000 worth of cards.
This is a great example of how getting involved in the #Hive community by helping new players learn a game can lead to huge revenue for the content creator. Going from $30 to $1000 in less than a year thanks to your effort and work must be very rewarding! And what is your game strategy today?
My main strategy is to keep accumulating CP to be able to compete in silver I (I only have 7,000 CP left). My goal is to achieve this without renting cards. Today I'm opening CL packs and flipping the summoners to keep buying more packs...
My strategy for CL packs is the other way round. I will hold them till the end of time until all the airdrops are revealed. Increasing the amount for guaranteed airdrop as they are being revealed....
Yeah! But I need the power so I am opening them now. To lessen rental costs and maximize income!
One thing that I love from #Splinterlands is that there are multiple ways of developing the investment. The game rewards competing at high levels. So your strat also looks great to me! Both we got 100KCP necessary to Gold league one day! Which are your best summoners right now?
I was lucky enough to reveal a couple of gold foil summoners: Thaddius and Obsidian. I have built a couple of decks to compete in Silver I taking advantage of these two cards to maximize income. At the same time I love Grum, I leave you a video with its highlights
Wow! That's a fantastic video. My humble experience playing Grum is that opponent has the counter on his hand (Lava + Brute). I feel that you have to play Grum when the opponent does not expect it. Kinda situational card in Silver ranked. And love playing him with Qid! Let's advance in the interview... Which are your 2022 objectives for Splinterlands and content creation?
I will continue to work hard to increase the audience of my YouTube channel, which most of its content is from Splinterlands. Although I also post about other games like Samurai Legends, which runs on the Binance Smart Chain. If you access my channel you can expand your #play2earn catalog with another interesting project.
When I have free time I'll take a look at it. It seems like a great project. Although I am quite involved with Splinterlands, Rising Star, and content creation. To finish the interview, do you have any bets on when the sale of Packs will end?
My prediction back then was CLP would be sold out immediately
If I had the funds. I should have bought all the packs by now. Then offer it on the market like a hive engine for a margin of at least $2. That will instantly give me millions of money once the packs would have been sold as well. Jokes aside... who knows?
Ok my friend, it has been a pleasure celebrating this interview. You are an example of how content creation can boost your investment. I hope this encourages a lot more people to jump into content creation on Hive. Good luck and see you at the Arena!
