Summer Camps to Content Creation: Journey of a Gamer and Educator
Hello everybody! It's @boycharlieplays, and I'm always excited to share my experience as a Gamer/Educator/Content creator on the Hive blockchain.
Introduction
As an Afterschool Program Educator for 14 years, I've gained a wealth of experience working with children and helping them develop new skills. In addition, I've had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of students from different backgrounds, ages, and abilities, which has taught me the importance of being adaptable and responsive to the needs of each child.
Before becoming an Afterschool Program Educator, I started my journey of working with children as a summer camp counselor. Next, I became an assistant director and, eventually, the summer camp program director. As a camp counselor, I realized my love for camp songs and playing games, and this passion has since translated into becoming a content creator.
As a content creator, I create engaging and educational games and activities for children that can be used in an Afterschool Program setting or at home. Through my content, I strive to inspire children to learn new skills, develop their creativity, and, most importantly, have fun! I also enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with other educators and parents looking for innovative ways to engage and educate children.

The One Strong Foundation, One Strong Community Program, and One Strong Page are all initiatives to foster growth and development in Western Massachusetts.
The One Strong Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports educational, cultural, and artistic programs. Its board of directors and community leaders work together to support local artists, educators, and community members who wish to improve the gateway cities of Western Massachusetts.
The One Strong Community Program LLC, a limited liability company operating under the One Strong Foundation, was established in 2022 to promote educational, artistic, and personal growth within the community. Their programs range from afterschool care, internships, art classes, and workshops to showcases and other events designed to engage, educate, and inspire individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
One Strong Page, founded in 2017, is an online blockchain blog that offers online resources and plans for organizing and executing events that promote social, economic, and cultural growth. It is a comprehensive online platform where members can access information about events, activities, and promotions from the One Strong Community Program and the One Strong Foundation.
Overall, these initiatives are all aimed at supporting the growth and development of the Western Massachusetts community through various educational, cultural, and artistic programs.
What is it like being a creator on Hive?
Being a content creator on the Hive blockchain has been an incredible experience. I've seen great developers creating amazing Dapps and websites, connected with other gamers and content creators, monetized my content, and built a supportive community that encourages growth and creativity.
An overview of the Hive blockchain and its reward system
The Hive blockchain is a decentralized platform where users can create and share content and get rewarded. When users post content, it's stored on the blockchain and can't be modified or deleted. Other users can then view, upvote, and comment on the content. The more engagement a post receives, the more rewards the creator earns in cryptocurrency. Advantages and challenges of being a content creator on Hive
Producing content online presents several challenges, particularly in forming meaningful relationships with others through direct interactions. While platforms such as Discord and chat rooms can aid in forging connections, they are often plagued by spamming and shallow interactions. With my participation in the One Strong Community Program internship, I aim to create a network that can generate interest in Hive across Western Massachusetts, providing a space where individuals can engage in more substantive discussions on the platform.
Furthermore, I haven't been able to match the demand for more commentary or interaction with my content. Despite the obstacles presented by not getting the required engagement, I remain upbeat and determined. I recently posted about the One Strong Community Program Internship, but sadly there wasn't much of a response from the community. I'm still optimistic that the article will pick up more steam and get more Curation Rewards upvotes. It takes time to grow a following, but I'm devoted to consistently producing engaging content.
Finally, I understand the struggle of finding people who truly understand my passion for gaming. The internet has made it easier to connect with others who share the same interests, but the @boycharliefamily gaming community has been a game-changer for me. Through this community, I have not only connected with like-minded individuals online. Still, I have also had the opportunity to attend in-person events where I could meet youth and adult members of the community. These events have allowed me to interact with other gamers, share our experiences and perspectives, and help others understand my mission as a creator and gamer. Being a part of this supportive community has been a personal highlight for me, and I encourage others to seek out similar communities to find their tribe of like-minded individuals.
Gaming Content
When it comes to gaming, I have a strong affinity for titles such as Splinterlands and Pokemon and have been producing content in this space for more than six years. Sharing my expertise and creativity with the gaming community is a way to help others and a form of personal therapy. So whether you're a seasoned veteran or a newcomer to the gaming world, you can look forward to joining me on exciting adventures and receiving valuable tips to help you succeed in your gaming endeavors.
Pokemon Livestreams and engaging with the audience
One of the ways I share my love of gaming is through my Pokemon Livestreams, where I interact with my viewers and impart game-specific advice. I also enjoy interacting with other Pokemon players and teaching them about the game. These live streams are an excellent method for me to interact with other Pokemon fans and impart my in-game tactics and advice. I also enjoy discussing the best strategies for various types of battles and instructing people on how to collect and train Pokemon.
Catching and training Pokemon in Scarlet
In Pokemon Scarlet, the Paldea region is a gorgeous locale brimming with the wonders of nature. Trainers traveling through this area should anticipate magnificent views, including lush green forests, glittering rivers, and craggy mountain ranges. In addition, trainers will come across various distinctive and colorful Pokemon that are endemic to the area as they explore Paldea, making their adventure visually attractive and full of fascinating discoveries. I've been a longtime lover of the Pokemon video game franchise, so the launch of the ninth generation with Pokemon Scarlet has me giddy with excitement!
This most recent iteration primed a transformation of the franchise entirely with fresh features and engaging gameplay that will keep trainers interested for hours. In addition to new Pokemon, players will have access to brand-new game mechanics that will change how they approach battles and exploration. In addition, the possibilities for strategic gameplay are endless, from new moves and abilities to an innovative type-changing system.
Battling on the Ranked Ladder and reaching Master Rank
As a competitive Pokemon trainer, I enjoy catching and training Pokemon in Scarlet and also love testing my skills in battles on the Ranked Ladder. My ultimate goal is to achieve Master Rank, the highest rank in the game. To do this, I study the current Meta on Pikalytics, showcasing the current Pokemon used, allowing me to create effective strategies and techniques to compete against other skilled players.
Trading Pokemon with other players
One of the other things I love about Pokemon Scarlet is the ability to trade with other players. I often trade Pokemon with others to help them complete their collections. Trading is a great way to connect with other Pokemon enthusiasts and build a strong community. It's also a great way to help others complete their collections and achieve their gaming goals.
The Family Splinterlands Guild and its importance in the @boycharliefamily
