DeepFakes

The internet is going to be a wild place when you can do stuff like deep fakes and ever more convincingly from a single picture. It already is. Just toady I watched an OSINT investigation into the deepfake videos used to smear UA military (one of the fakes was promoted by Alex Jones and became quite popular in the west).I feel like if deep fakes get good enough and common enough it will give plausible deniability to bad actors caught on tape. I realy hope they don't ever become so good no one can tell the difference. But I'm not aware enough of audio and video to have a clue how it could be prevented.
I actualy was expecting a lot more in preparation for the US elections than I have seen. There's a little disappointment there for me because those two clowns are perfect material for a realy screwed up deep fake. Ppl would automatically believe it no matter what you get them to say.
There are artifacts or even, there's a lack of artifacts in some cases
When you cover a camera's lens, there is still a bit of noise, which is random
When there's a lack of this, or the pattern gets copied in a way, this is detectable. It will become very difficult to detect quite soon, and might become undetectable in future. But that doesn't really matter because even now it is used quite successfully. In reality it's like a headline. You don't need it to be true for it to create a massive influence on what a large group thinks.
