Splinterlands 6 year celebration already crossed its deadline and now it's time to share a weekly battle challenge. Yesterday evening I staked 52k sps that were in liquid. Actually I was getting less Glint taken from daily focus reward. I want to increase the number of Epic and Legendary cards that's why I am trying to manage more Glint tokens. Now I am getting almost 400 Glint tokens for a single battle.
Now let's have a quick review about keep your distance. I like this ruleset very much because most of the player comes with magic and Range attack. Most of the time I use Thaddius Brood or Obsidian with the combination of silence ability monsters.

MY SUMMONER

If Death splinter is active then I always prefer Thaddius Brood otherwise I choose Obsidian. Actually my plan is based on a magic attack. Thaddius Brood is my favorite against Magic Monsters. When I checked the recently played team, there was Alric Stormbringer. At once I decided to use **Thaddius Brood**. Thaddius Brood is a weaken and Silence ability **Chaos Legion Edition summoner. It is for Mana** Rare summoner. To support it I selected Phantom Soldier and Amplify ability monsters.

BATTLE RULESET AND MANA

It was only 37 Mana game play but an interesting fact was that with keep your distance there was also Armored up and Fog of War ruleset.
Only three Splinter Death, Life and Water were active for the battle. I could use Ilthan for Range attack but my faith was with Silenced Summoner.

Keep Your Distance

Monsters with Melee attacks may not be used in battles. Only magic and range Monsters will be available. One has to show their faith with magic attack and Range attack.

Armored Up

All Monsters have two additional armor in addition their normal Armor stat.

Fog of War
Monsters lose the Sneak, Snipe
and Opportunity abilities. All monsters will target front position monster.

TEAM COMBINATION AND CARD PLACING

It's never be an easy task to set up our team in keep your distance ruleset. There be an equal possibility to use Magic and Range monsters. Taking this in the mind I decided to use similar combination for magic and range attack.
Although I checked opponents recently played team then I was sure that my opponent will come with Alric Stormbringer as he has pretty good magic monsters including blast Ruler of the Sea and Riverboat Captain. There were a couple of more magic Monsters in his recently played team.
I prepared my team taking magic attack but I was also careful with range attack that's why I given place a Headwinds ability non attacking monster Riftwing in my battle squad.
Similarly my lineup is two Void and magic reflect at front in keep your distance. I stayed with my lineup and fortunately I got only magic Army.

RIFTWING

It is a four Mana common monster from Death unit but it is a very useful card especially for it's four abilities. It is a Headwinds ability card and I was careful taking opponents' ranged attacks. I could place it in third position but this time I decided to use its back fire ability. So I placed it at first position. It could be a better option with weapons training monster. This Monster comes in four Mana 5 speed and six health at level 8. It has pretty good abilities like Flying, Headwinds, Backfire and Scavenger.

LORD ARIANTHUS

This is my favorite card from Neutral Element. This legendary card does not have any attack abilities. I was using level 3 of it. This monster comes with 4 abilities. Its Shield, Void, Magic Reflect and Thorns ability is enough for a normal battle lineup. It is only five mana. There is one speed and it has a total of 8 health. I placed this card in the second position. With the Shield ability, it reduces the damage of Melee attacks from the opposition team. It's void ability, reduces magic attack. Sometimes I use it with weapons training monster Flexion Hero.

PRISMATIC ENERGY

It was the second card with magic reflect. It is a rare card from neutral unit. During battle I always get a couple of the magic monsters having pretty good magic attacks. I was thinking if my opponent comes with a magic monster then it can be useful at second position. Likewise whenever I have to battle against Magic additional summoner then I use this monster with the combination of Lord Arianthus. It was **Keep your distance** ruleset, so it was going to be impactful in this battle. This monster comes with two Magic attacks, Four Speed and 10 Health at level-5. This is one of the most effective magic monster especially against Magic attack

WEIRDING WARRIOR

It is a two Mana monster from the death unit. It is an epic card and there was a particular reason to choose it in battle squad. Actually this Monster comes with Amplify ability and I was using two magic reflect monsters in my battle squad, so it was going to be crucial for the battle. Due to fog of war no opportunity monster was going to Target it. You will get two range attacks, 3 speed but only to health at level 4. I think in this ruleset it is a Perfect combination. I could use another magic attack Amplify ability monster but I was little careful from the magic reflect of the enemy team. This little League Monster comes with two abilities Shatter and Amplify.

PHANTOM SOLDIER

This is an Epic card from the Death unit. It is an eight Mana magic monster. I was using 5 levels of it and at this level we get 10 health, 3 magic attacks and 3 speed. This Monster comes with three abilities: Silenced, Flying and Void. This Monster always is impactful with the combination of Thaddius Brood especially against magic Monsters. Whenever I have to battle against Daria Dragonscale, Obsidian or Alric Stormbringer then I always try to use the Phantom Soldier and Thaddius Brood combination. Likewise in Keep your distance and Fog of War Phantom Soldier always be effective. I was using this magic Monster at second last position, so that the rest of the monster can get silence till 3rd or 4th round.

GRIM REAPER

It is a Death 6 Mana monster. I was using this Epic Monster because of its pretty good four range attack and Affliction ability. It's health is very low but due to Fog of War I could use it at last position. I was thinking if my enemy teen comes with magic reflect monsters like Lord Arianthus and Prismatic Energy then it can help with 4 range attacks. You will see that I gave priority to grim reaper over Doctor Blight. My anime was using Tank Heal, so it was going to be impactful with Affliction. You will see that I lost only a single front monster and finished the battle in 4th round without losing more monster..

MY STRATEGY

For this battle I was more optimistic and hoping that my enemy team will come with asimilar battle squad to what I saw in his recently played team.
When I was in Battlefield there was no change in his battle squad.
My most of the strategy was taking magic attacks. For that I set up two magic reflect monsters at second and third position with Void. I was already using the Silenced summoner Thaddius Brood. To reduce the impact of Magic attack I added one more silence epic monster Phantom Soldier.
To add additional impact, I given place to Weirding Warrior with Amplify.
In this way my enemy team became helpless due to single magic attack. The were ineffective against void. I won this battle in 4th round, just losing a front monster Riftwing.
