Ranking and SPS Goals As We Celebrate Six Years Of Splinterlands

As we celebrate six years of Splinterlands, in this edition of the post, I want to delve deeper into some playing goals as well as some SPS accumulation goals and the progress towards them.

Ranking

After 2 or 3 years, I have finally made it back to Champion again. Previously, I found it impossible to go past Diamond III but for whatever reason, the past two seasons have been a lot easier.

It feels a bit like the Splinterlands before SPS was launched and I was regularly able to make it to Diamond at least.

Personally, my goal going forward is to stay in Champion or at least Diamond I unless the game requirements change again. Rewards don't really change that much between Champion and Diamond but it's a matter of pride.

SPS Accumulation

In my previous post, I talked about how card values have been neglected and should come back in focus in order to boost the whole ecosystem.

The other aspect of the game that I feel needs to be looked as is the SPS inflation. It's currently at 13% which isn't too high in crypto but it needs to be balanced with the demand for it. Given how SPS prices have more or less remained the same even as the rest of crypto has boomed, something needs to be done.

This of course, starts with bringing down the inflation rate. Next, the SPS that is printed needs to get into the hands of serious players who will stake it rather than bots. I don't have a problem with bots, but selling all earnings creates strong downward price pressure. This brings me back to my earlier point about owned non-soulbound cards being the measure for future rewards, or at least a factor.

Personally, I'm staking all my SPS. Prices are too low and if we were to get this on a decent exchange like Binance or Coinbase, this would pump maybe 2x or 3x and also has the potential of bringing in new players. I've staked about an extra 550 SPS since my last post about this 15 days ago. Bought about 400 SPS and the additional was from rewards.

It's not easy for a game to maintain relevance for six years so congratulations to Splinterlands! The game continues to evolve and the potential for any new player to earn remains good as many of the milestones of a big project have yet to happen. Anyway, that's not financial advice but what I'm planning to do.
