Splinterlands - Community Engagement Challenge - Support Articles - Glint Shop Usage and Buy Strategy
Hello Friends,
It's awesome to start a Monday with another Splinterlands related blog for the Community Engagement Challenge and what is the topic for this week? This is One of the nice topics as we got to write about the Glint shop and the strategies for using the Glint token.
So, without any further delay, let's jump on to know a bit about Glint shop First.
What is Glint Token?
It's not a secret by now about the Glint token as this has been announced atleast few months back, but, let's learn a bit more about the Glint Token.
Glint is the latest token or Crypto from Splinterlands which is being used along with DEC, SPS, Voucher and SPT and is the token which is being rewarded for competing and winning the battles in Wild as well as Modern formats although the amounts will differ when we battle with Wild format as compared to the Modern format.
So, Glint is awarded along with SPS for each battle win and is accumulated for the season end rewards and each battle win also gives us some Glint for instant use without having to wait till season end.
Please note that, Glint token cannot be purchased from the Spliterlands market, it has to be earned by playing the battles.
How to earn more Glint Tokens?
The Glint token earning is based on the boost score decided by Splinterlands based on 3 main criterion:
1. Staked SPS:
The main criteria for earning more Glint is to stake more SPS as the amount of Glint earned per battle is directly proportional to the amount of SPS we have staked and this is the most important One in earning the Glint.
2. Guild Bonus:
The Guild members earn some extra thru Guild bonus for leveled up lodge building in Guilds. Although this doesn't yield much, but it will be an added bonus and One should join a guild as that also helps in earning SPS for winning brawl battles.
3. Title Bonus:
Title bonus is based on different titles earned from Land purchase and other activities related to land and this is least amount of bonus for me atleast as I just have 5 land plots and whales who have purchased 100's of plots or tracts will definitely earn more through this bonus.
So, overall, in my case, staking SPS is a major criteria and I am sure, for many of us, it will be the same as it carried more weightage.
Spending Glint Tokens:
This is the important step as to how we spend Glint tokens and how we earn the rewards cards which use to be provided to battle players in the form of chests earlier for daily battle wins and season end rewards as well.
But, this is changed now and the Glint token is introduced and that has to be spent in Glen's Glint shop in order to get the cards and this method can be of 2 types as highlighted in above screenshot.
So, we can earn the rewards cards from Rebellion edition which is the last introduced edition for us and we can earn these cards with 2 different types of options.
1. Rarity Draws:
Rarity Draws are something which gets us straight to the point in earning cards and ONLY cards when we purchase these and these can be 4 types based on 4 rarities we have in Splinterlands cards viz. common, rare, epic and the awesome legendary ones.
Each of these rarity draws are of different cost with common Ones costing 150 Glints for each. Likewise, we have to pay 750 glints for rare ones, 7500 glint for epic ones and finally 35000 for a legendary rarity draw and I would like to remind that, each of these rarity draws will yield One card, so, if I purchase 10 rare rarity draws by paying 7.5K (750 * 10), then I will get exactly 10 rare cards some of which may be gold foiled Ones based on potions usage and on the percentage of gold foil cards set for these draws.
So, as we can see from above screenshots, I brought 10 rare rarity draws and spend 7.5K Glint and used 10 alchemy potion and finally when I drew these, I got exactly 10 cards although none of them are gold foiled ones.
So, the thumb rule is, Number of rarity draws = number of cards we get, as simple as that.
2. Loot Chests:
Now comes the Second option to purchase the rewards cards and this is Loot chests options which is similar to the loot chests we use to get earlier for competing in battles and level up to earn more loot chests.
The major difference between these and the rarity rewards is that that, the loot chests not just have rewards cards, these might even have the all important energy, some awesome jackpots such as land plots and even potions along with merits which are usable to purchase guild gladius packs.
So, to some extent, we can say these are more beneficial compared to rarity draws as these will give us a chance to earn the energy and jackpots.
There is also an additional advantage with these loot chests as we might get multiple copies of the same cards from each loot chest.
Let's see by purchasing 10 loot chests of ultimate Ones as it's been a season end day and I have enough Glint to purchase ultimate chests :)
So, I spend 45K Glint for purchasing 10 ultimate chests:
Used 10 alchemy and 10 legendary potions to increase my chance of getting those shiny Ones.
10 loot chests I got:
and... booooooom, here are my 10 ultimate loot chest rewards:
It has to be my luckiest day as I got 2 (infact 3) legendary cards and all important 4 energy and an epic (count it as 2 copies) of epic Nightreaper and 6 set of common card and usual potions.
So, that shows that, we might feel good with ultimate chests, but we need to spend that much Glint as well.
Also, note the multiple copies of cards we got there with that First legendary card is in 2 numbers.
So, this is what we can corelate with rarity draws and loot chests where in, loot chests have definitely yielded better results with 3 legendary cards for me and even couple of epic cards too.
So, a total of 11 cards I got from 10 chests and I have spent 45K Glint for this, but a rewarding One.
The strategy for Glint spending:
Well, whether you call me old fashioned or whatever, but I still want to go with the strategy of buying rarity draws from a particular rarity out of those 4 and get all the cards leveled up and then move to the next rarity group.
In that way, we can level up the cards faster and hopefully, we can get most of the cards from atleast 2 or 3 rarities leveled up than having all cards from all rarities not fully leveled up.
Because, I have been facing this issue since last 2 editions as I haven't been able to level up all the cards from all rarities and have lost those all important abilities we will get from fully leveled up cards and I will always be lagging behind when I compete with those fully leveled up cards.
So, this is my personal opinion but a more rewarding One if I follow this strategy.
Any counters on this? Please comment out guys.
That is what I wanted to write up in this blog and I hope some of you find it informative when you go out and make those purchases from Gwen's Glint Shop next time.
Take care and have a great week ahead my awesome battlers :)
Thanks and Have a good day :)
