Hello Friends,
https://peakd.com/splinterlands/@splinterlands/share-your-battle-weekly-challenge-dragons
So, what are you doing with Splintershards you earn on daily basis? Stake, sell or just holding those back for better price?
Well, I am staking 50% and holding remaining 50% so far and hoping to use the liquid ones either to buy Hive and power up or to sell and have fiat currency. Any suggestions?
Welcome to another weekly blog about SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge and the theme for this week is something a splinter and I always enjoy more than any other splinters and it's none other than Dragons.
Dragons is one of the more popular splinters in Splinterlands with it allowing to use all the other splinters along with some special Dragon Splinter monsters.
Some of the favorites for me from Dragon splinter are Javelin Thrower, Robo-Dragon Knight, Manticore, Fire Spitter, The Vigilator, Gold Dragon, Black Dragon oh... the list is endless.
Battle and Lineup:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_eed8b05c4a021fa80233ada7f0623ee7&ref=coolguy123
This was the battle with medium MANA cap of 23 and ranged monsters were barred from usage in the battle with Broken Arrows rule set and the monsters also got the Divine Shield thru Holy Protection rule set.
Dragons always excites me and I use Screeching Vulture in combination with Javelin Thrower whenever there is enough MANA to accommodate both the monsters.
Below is the lineup I used for this battle:
Lineup:
1. Flesh Golem:
My favorite tank from the Earth Splinter and it has been one of the most used monsters.
I used this to take advantage of it's healing ability and this has 11 health to happily stay longer in the battle and it also provides 3 basic melee attack which normally becomes 5 or 6 based on the inspiring monsters I use in the battle along with Daria Dragonscale summoner which too inspires.
2. Orc Sergeant:
This reach cum inspire ability monster gels well with Flesh Golem and most of the times, these 2 combine to get rid of the front monster from the opposite side.
I use this mostly for inspire ability and it's one of the most successful combination for me in recent times.
3. Screeching Vulture:
This opportunity and scavenger monster is the one I use with above 2 monsters simply because, it's the best to get rid of all those low health but powerful monsters such as Brownie, Creeping Ooze and other monsters.
4. Brownie:
Brownie is a must when we have many melee attack monsters in our lineups as this is another monster which inspires and it also provides the much needed speed for all the friendly monsters to have an advantage to attack earlier than opponent's monsters.
5. Spirit Shaman:
I thought of using the Wood Nymph here, but, then thought, if I can stop the front monster with a stun, I can keep track of the remaining ones from opponent's lineup since this battle was with medium MANA cap and will not have many BIG MANA and attack monsters.
6. Furious Chicken:
All the MANA cap was used up with the usage of Spirit Shaman and I used this Zero MANA cost monster for any possible sneak and opportunity attack.
Opponent used Dragon splinter as well with his monsters being Chain Golem, Shadowy Presence, Dwarven Wizard, Death Elemental, Fallen Specter and Theorosa Nightshade.
Battle:
Round 1:
Opponent used magic inspiring monsters along with Chain Golem which means, there weren't any casualties in this round.
The divine shield also means the monsters had the luxury of escaping the First attack.
Round 2:
The divine shield saved few of the monsters from getting removed in the First round, but, in this round, both of us lost a monster each.
While Fallen Specter was the First to go for opponent, I lost the Spirit Shaman since opponent used 2 snipe monsters.
Round 3:
The stun on Chain Golem made it a weaker one and since opponent too didn't use any tank healer, Chain Golem lost out in this round because of attack from Flesh Golem and Orc Sergeant.
Round 4:
Most destructive of the 6 rounds of battle this one was.
Opponent lost 2 monsters in this round in the form of Theorosa Nightshade and then Shadowy Presence and the Flesh Golem for me, got removed as there was no tank healer for me.
Round 5:
Dwarven Wizard was the one which got removed in this round for opponent and that took me closer to victory as opponent was left with just Death Elemental.
Round 6:
It just took 2 more hits in this round to get rid of Death Elemental and that was a sweet win with all the monsters I used contributing in this win including the stun from Spirit Shaman.
Questions and Answers:
Did my strategy work? What will I try differently next time?
The strategy of not using a tank healer and use a stun monster in Spirit Shaman went well with this battle as the Chain Golem was stunned in the First round and it couldn't recover back.
The Screeching Vulture was good and so were the First 2 monsters in Flesh Golem and Orc Sergeant.
Brownie to contributed by inspiring the monsters and increasing the speed.
Overall, a great battle.
Do I like DRAGONS? Why or why not?
Obviously, I use them a lot and those contribute for the wins I have.
Most of the Dragon monsters are flying monsters and have better chance of evading the attack and that contributes much in the win percentage.
Oh, I hope you enjoyed the details of this battle and the battle itself. Sometimes, we have to take some decisions which are risky like not using a tank healing monster such as Wood Nymph here and that pays off most of the times.
Thanks as always for the support from each of you.
Thanks and Have a good day :)

Thank you team @monster-curator, appreciate that :)
This is an awesome battle. And I appreciate the lore implications by using Daria Dragonscale, with a Flesh Golem to fight her brother, Delwyn Dragonscale, who she turned into a flesh golem to save him. Perfect summoner battle, lol.
Yep, brother against sister :)
It's very rare to win against magic monsters and I am happy I could do it in this battle :)
