Battle Mage Secrets: Weak Magic

Hello Splinterfam! Here I am back again for this week's Battle Mage Secrets. This week the featured rule is Weak Magic. For those of you who are new here I only own cards on a silver level and modern cards. So I would mainly talk about here on silver level perspective and about modern cards which is the chaos legion and Rebellion. First let us know what Weak Magic is.

Weak Magic: Magic attacks hit Armor before reducing Health. Before your unit takes damage to its Health, the Armor would be damaged instead that is if your unit has armor. Shatter ability is good to use against your enemy in this rule because people most likely use units with high armor Shatter would instantly deletes all the armor if it is hit with an attack. Increasing your armor by using units with Protection abilities to further increase the survivability of your units. Also units with Resurrect ability is sometimes good to use because if your unit dies and resurrected the armor of that unit is also restored full allowing that unit to take a few hits or two. These are the things that always comes to mind first when I see the Weak Magic rule.

The Rules were:

Explosive Weaponry - All monsters get the Blast Ability.

Weak Magic - Magic attacks hit Armor before reducing Health.

A 50 mana cap battle with Fire, Water and Life splinters available to use. I used Water because my water element is where I most invested and water for me is my highest win rate plus water is also my focus for today lol.

The Line up I used was:

Possibilus The Wise - To give Reach ability to my second unit plus the extra 2 health and the trample ability is good to have.

Diemonshark - A good tank because of its speed plus the Enrage ability makes it hit like a truck and increase its survivability by increasing its speed.

Coastal Sentry - One of my favorite card due to its double strike. I always use this card in the 2nd position because it is not tanky enough to survive attacks on front. The double strike plus the trample ability is a good combo because it attack 2x meaning the chance for it to kill a unit and activate trample is doubled.

Deeplurker - With the Opportunity ability this card is very usable because of its high melee attack and avarage speed for its mana cost plus the trample ability would likely trigger because it targets enemy units with the lowesr health.

Venari Wavesmith - I used this card for the protection ability to increace the survivability of all my units.

River Hellondale - A unit with Resurrect ability as I said earlier is useful in this situation plus this unit also has inspire ability to increase the melee attack of Diemonshark, Coastal Sentry and Deeplurker.

Swamp Spitter - With a repair ability makes all my unit hard to kill plus the 3 range attack is good to have.

The battle went well and according to plan. None of my units died, well there is one who died but then resurrected so technically it is still alive lol. I think I won the battle because I have a unit with resurrect allowing Coastal Sentry to attack again twice. This team composition is what I always use if given the chance because of the high damage it can dish out plus the survivability of the units are good. The only problem with this composition it high mana cost.

• Conclusion

When playing Weak Magic rule try to pick tanks with high armor and a unit with resurrect ability to increase the survivability of the tank allowing your backline units to dish more damage. Be careful of units with sneak and opportunity ability.
