Splinterlands Art Contest Week 258!// Last Ditch, Stitch Leech!

In a life or death situation, there's no room for hesitation. Last Ditch, Stitch Leech!

Hello guys! This is my entry for Splinterlands Art Contest Week 258.

This time, I have created an animated 3D artwork of Stich Leech. Though they look terrifying, they are often used by magical practitioners for healing magic. Since they look kind of gross and dangerous (They bite!), using them would be the last resort for new magical practitioners, thus, I entitled my entry as shown above.

Medium and Software:

Hardware: Personal Laptop Software: Autodesk Maya and Adobe Photoshop 2021

Here are the steps on how I made my 3D animated Artwork:

1. I started creating leaf-like shape that will serve as a part of its mouth.
2. By modifying and duplicating a sphere, I created the teeth.
3. I made duplicates of the leaf-like shape with embedded teeth to create the mouth.
4. I started extruding the faces of the resulting model. The model for the mouth / head is then completed.
5. I started creating the body while trying to show how it looks like on the official card.
6. I completed the model by adding the other "spikes" and fin-line part on its back then added materials and lightings on the model.
7. I also added an environment by modifying and adding materials on a plane. Below are some of the rendered photos that are part of the final output. The final animated output is on the top of this post.

Hi guys! It's been about four months already since I've last joined the contest! And here I thought that I would be able to keep posting more frequently. Hahaha! I hope, I'll be able to participate more for the rest of 2023.
