Rising from Seawater, Enormous Sea Monster!

Hello guys! This is my entry for Splinterlands Art Contest Week 260.

I have created an animated 3D artwork for Sea Monster. Sea monsters are rumored to be able to swallow a whole ship. Little did they know that even larger sea monsters can swallow another sea monsters that are able to swallow a whole ship! This time, I tried to use another technique in animating my 3D Model. The original idea was to make the sea monster dive to and rise from the water surface. The animation was attainable but I don't have the knowledge to do it that's why I decided to create a scene under the ocean.

However, after a long time of searching, I finally found the what I was looking for. and immediately, I tried to create the scene even after I have finalized the scene under the ocean.

Creating scenes with more details results to large file sizes. But the following links will direct you to the final outputs at intended resolution (1280 x 720):

Please take time to view the linked files as large file GIF sometimes does not work properly when uploaded directly on this site.

Medium and Software:

Hardware: Personal Laptop

Software: Autodesk Maya and Adobe Photoshop 2021

Step by Step:

Here are the steps on how I made my 3D animated Artwork:

I started by modeling the lower part of the head. I added details to create the teeth and the spikes under the chin. I have also created the tongue.

Then I started working on the upper part of the head and added the necessary details to make it look like how it was designed on the official card.

I have created the body of the model. I added the spikes, the fins and the tail. Here is the resulting model with texture. " "3.PNG""

I animated the model and created the underwater scene.

Then, I revised the animation sequence and created the original intended scene. I have prepared multiple cameras to render the scene on different angles.

Below are some of the outputs I have made for Sabre Shark.

Hi guys! You may have noticed that there were missing details on the 3D animated output. I had trouble in animating those hair-like part that's why I decided to remove it from the model. I may find a way to work with it but I don't want to be late in submitting my artwork. Hahaha! And I'm also planning to start my next artwork earlier.

It really is satisfying to see the results of things that you initially thought you won't be able to create. Thank you very much for visiting my work and reading up to this part! As always, it would mean so much for me if you can upvote and share my post. You may also comment your ideas regarding my artworks. I will be willing to read your thoughts about them. You may also visit my account to view my other artworks if you are interested.

That's it guys, see you again next time!
