Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge! / Ferocity.

Source: Splinterlands

This time we will talk about the Ferocity condition. This condition allows increasing the damage to cards that have the Taunt ability, therefore, it is not convenient to use this type of card, because they can be destroyed very easily. From my point of view, this condition does not represent a problem, because there are always good alternatives to the strategies in which we use cards with the Taunt ability.

I must admit that I usually use cards with the Taunt ability, and sometimes I have risked placing them when the Ferocity condition is activated in the battle, but the right thing to do would be to avoid provoking the fury of our opponent. In this battle the mana was 26 and the Briar Patch (Thorns) condition is also activated, therefore, direct attack cards would not be convenient, so the most suitable for me was to use a classic strategy with a team of water element and magic. This battle happened several weeks ago, since in the last battles in modern and wild mode I have not obtained battles with this condition.

Summoner.

The summoner I used was Alric Stormbringer, this card is very useful and well known to all players, and its ability to increase the magic power would contribute to make my team stronger, main to the legendary cards in my strategy.

  • The first cards I used were fillers, like Torrent Fiend and Furious Chicken, so I would avoid the direct attack to my main cards.
  • In the third and fourth position, I placed Hardy Stonefish and Djjin Oshannus, in this case, Hardy Stonefish would be another filler card and Djinn Oshannus would be one of my important or key cards, as it could attack and reduce magic damage.

  • Finally, I placed Merdaali Guardian, this card would serve to heal Djjin Oshannus, since logically this card would advance to the first position and at the end Phantom of The Abyss, this card is resistant and at the same time can attack and take care of the back.

While my opponent uses Pembrook Nymph, Venari Marksrat, Prismatic Energy, Riverboat Captain, Spirit Hoarder and Furious Chicken.

Battle:

  • During the first round, I was able to destroy Venari Marksrat, and the remaining cards on my team fulfilled their role, as Torrent Fiend, Furious Chicken and Hardy Stonefish were destroyed in the first round.
  • From this point the real outcome of the battle began, as Djinn advanced to the first position, so Merdaali Guardian had to start with his healing work and Phantom of The Abyss with his attacks. In the third round, I destroyed the remaining cards of my opponent, such as Prismatic Energy.

  • In the fourth and fifth round, the magic power of Djjin Oshannus and Phantom of The Abyss finished off Riverboat Captain, Spirit Hoarder and Furious Chicken.

Conclusion.

We must always be very observant when having the Ferocity condition activated, from my point of view we are free to place any type of cards, but avoiding cards with the Taunt ability. In the case of using cards with the Taunt ability our strategy can be easily destroyed, so I consider that we can apply any type of strategy, I do not see the Ferocity condition as a problem.
