The last few months Splinterlands have been full of many changes and updates, which has left diverse experiences in the users, some consider the changes as positive and others are still not used to them or don't like them. But in this case I am going to analyze the advantages of the latest changes or the positive aspects, but based on my perspective, plus the problems I have faced in the two league modes.
The wild mode.
This league allows us to use all our cards, which is something we are all interested in having more strategies and without limitations. But the most striking since the last update is that you can move up to the diamond league (Wild) with cards of level 1, 2 and 3, it has also been shown that it is easier to reach high leagues.
I experienced this and was able to reach the Diamond league, but I wasn't sure if my strategy quality had improved or if the Wild mode had become easier to battle in. Finally, I could realize that this mode had become easier, as the strategies I applied were the same as in the silver league and I could also observe the promotion of other players from the Bronze/Silver league to Diamond, besides that some were commenting on social networks that the bots had allowed them to promote more than usual.
Although this may seem beneficial it also has some disadvantages, for example the amount of Glint is lower, but quite adequate compared to the modern mode, but the big disadvantage is the low SPS gain, as it is much lower than the modern mode.
Modern mode.
This mode I used less frequently, but several seasons ago I was able to reach the silver league with a rating above 1650. During this season after the update, it was evident that there was a lot of competition, the common strategies of the lower leagues were not so effective. All this caused me to spend more time trying to create better strategies. Something that influenced was the availability of using cards of different levels without limits.
But the great advantage of this modality is that you can get more profit in SPS and also 50% more profit in Glint. The latter was a great attraction for some who have decided to migrate to the modern mode, but it has been more complicated to move up to higher leagues.
Conclusion.
From my point of view, I think that if your interest is to accumulate Glint to get better cards, I think it might be easier to try to get it through the wild mode, since you could reach higher leagues more easily and thus be able to accumulate Glint faster. Although the modern mode offers more Glint, it can be more complicated to move up in the leagues to obtain and accumulate large amounts of Glint per battle.
Now if your goal is to get more SPS, perhaps the best option is to fight in the modern mode, since the gains are much higher, but moving up to high leagues may take longer due to the level of the opponents, probably if you have a reduced deck of cards you will have to invest to improve your strategies with cards from the latest editions. It is also worth mentioning that tournaments lately are representing a great opportunity to get SPS.
In short, each mode has its advantages or difficulties, but it will depend on each player which mode he can adapt to, in addition to the objectives he has set for himself.
