Fan-Art of LORD OF FIRE. Splinterlands Weekly Art Contest.
First of all, I'd like to apologise for being offline for almost 3 months. I'll explain the full situation below and share my work too. I believe you will enjoy reading my comeback story and watching my work.
I quit my job 2 months ago. There was some disagreement between me and my superior officer. I also had a plan for a startup for a long time. This seemed like a perfect time to build it. That's why I quit my job on the 1st of June and started building my institution along with my friend Ethan. It's a company from where we will provide mortgage services to our clients. Choosing and decorating our office and collecting resources and employing people with true skills. Had to spend a whole month just gathering everything and doing the setups. Then came the time to contact sellers, and agencies and make adverts. Finally, after 2 months of hard work and a lot of investment, we're now getting clients. The first two weeks were tough as we were new on this side of work and it took us some time to get used to.
Because of the current situation in the world, even I'm having a hard time managing the costs of living. Inflation got us this time. Also, I had to invest a lot in my startup. I'm now looking for some alternative way to earn more. I saved some extra bucks and looked for proper projects to invest them. Also looking for investors for my company.
Now let's talk about the work I'm planning to share here today. Now that I've got my company set and it's running at its speed. I do have to keep watch on the employees. But, I'm now more free for some extra work and entertainment than before. This is the beauty of this platform I believe. At the end of the day, I can do what is my hobby. Share it with others and this creates an opportunity for me to connect with other people. Also watching other people's creative work, and vlogs and reading the posts of others is quite entertaining too.
In this post, I'm planning to share a drawing of a splinterlands monster that I created with both Adobe Illustrator and Autodesk Sketchbook Pro. I've already shared my illustration work here before and I also shared normal drawings that I've done on my tablet using the Autodesk Sketchbook software. I recently learned about using the Autodesk Sketchbook Pro software on my PC. I also bought a graphics tablet to do it. You can say this is my first drawing done this way. I only used these tools to learn drawing in the part. I'll give a short review of the tablet, pen and software next.
- First of all, I downloaded this dummy from the internet. Well, it wasn't the same dummy I downloaded. I changed the body position according to my drawing idea.
- Then I started drawing. The pen has a pressure-sensitive tip that comes in handy while drawing. I'll explain more about it when I'm doing the review.
- After drawing the basic structure for my drawing I moved on to Adobe Illustrator for drawing the final border lines and doing the colouring part. For drawing the lines I used the pen tool illustrator.
- Then I started putting colours in every part.
- As you can see the list of the layers. It was tough to manage all of them while working. Layers indeed make working with every part easy, but arranging them is a pain in the ass too.
- Then I added some shady and light parts on the body to give the skin of "Fire Lord" a more realistic texture.
- As you can see that I added fire on the tail or the character and a fire background. I haven't created them. I downloaded them from the internet and I'm giving the source link below.
- making the background was a tricky job to do. It took me more than 1hour to do it and mainly to find all the proper images. Let me just upload the pictures in a collage. It'll make the explaining part easier.
First of all look at picture 4. It's the final image of the character with the background. Now, you can see that the LORD OF FIRE is standing on a rock. I took this rock from Image No.01. Then I used Image No.03 and used the blend tool of Adobe Photoshop. Then I used Image No.02 to fill the back of the rock and the character with fire. And here's the Image Source of the fire I used in the tail of "LORD OF FIRE".
And after all the work and processing. Here's the final image:-
I believe you've liked my work process and my drawing. Here's a full list of the tools I used.*
1. Autodesk Sketchbook Pro.
2. Wacom Intous Pro Graphics Tablet.
3. My Computer.
4. Adobe Illustrator 2021.
5. Adobe Photoshop 2021.
I'd also like viewers of my post to join splinterlands. It's an amazing game with lots of cards, summoners, and options to play. This game was the option I came to know about the hive and enjoyed playing it. All those cards, their powers, different battle rules, and mana limitations make it playing more interesting. You can play this game to earn rewards, trade cards to make a profit or buy and hold cards or packs as an investment. I currently have some cards and some chaos legion packs bought. I still have a lot of things to learn from it. You can use my referral link to join splinterlands.
