Splinterlands Battle Report. A Battle with Mycelic Slipspawn.

For a long, I've been sharing drawings and illustrations of splinterlands and the normal ones too. It was splinterlands that introduced me to hive and since then I've been playing it regularly.

I never planned to share my battle since I was new here and had little knowledge about the game. I was still figuring out all the tips and tricks including learning about all the powers and abilities of the cards and the monsters.

But, after playing the game for this long time, I can say that now I know pretty much everything about it. Though I still believe that there's a lot to learn about it and something even outside the game. Then it occurred to me that I wasn't watching the gameplay videos on youtube made me an expert in splinterlands. It was playing it myself that made me strong in splinterlands. I can learn more and more about writing battle reports only if I practice them myself. I've been reading others' posts for a long time. But, to be honest, I only learned about how to write one. I wasn't able to figure out my own way. The unique way how I'll write my battle reports.

So, in this post, I'm writing a battle report of a ranked battle that I played using the Earth Summoner named Obsidian. I'm also writing this particular post to take participation in the Weekly Share Your Battle arranged by @splinterlands. The challenge of this week's contest is that the player needs to use a monster that players under the Earth Splinter named Mycelic Slipspawn. You'll also need to share this post on any social media to complete your participation in the contest. I'll also share the post on Twitter and Reddit so that it can reach out to many people as possible.

  • As for my lineup, I normally use the Unicorn Mustang in the first position because this card has a large amount of life and strong melee attacking ability. It also has the void ability that helps the Unicorn Mustang to defend itself against any magic attacks. But that card costs a lot more mana than any other card. In that case, I use the card named Hill Giant. This monster only costs 3 mana caps to use in battles yet it has 6 life capacities which are huge for a monster costing 3 mana caps. It can hold back the attacks longer and you'll also notice that I used a card with the tank heal ability and that was helpful to keep the monster standing.

  • Then I used a monster named the Failed Summoner. At its level, this monster doesn't attack. You may think it's useless to use in battles. But wait, this is quite useful in reality. First of all, it costs only 2mana caps to use and the main reason that I use it is the Magic Reflect ability. It's a death trap for enemy monsters that use magic attacks. This ability reflects back any magic attacks that hit it. That way it can destroy the enemy monsters with their own attack.

Failed Summoner

  • Then in the third position, I used the theme card of this week's contest. This monster is named Mycelic Slipspawn. It's strong and useful. Though it costs 9mana which is huge for a low mana cap allowing battle. This monster can be useful in battles with a large mana cap allowance. It has a special ability named Taunt. It attracts all the attacks on itself and takes down all the damages. It's a suicidal move for sure, but this monster has a large life capacity which helps it to stand in its position for a long period of time. Also, the summoner I used helps all friendly magic attacking monsters to gain +1 magic attacking power. This card already possesses 2 magic attacking abilities and with the help of the summoner, it gains a magic attacking ability of 3. Which is huge since no shields can stop them. It's also the fastest card amongst all the cards I used. So, for that matter, it's the strongest and most useful card amongst all the cards I used. It gets more and more useful when it reaches level 4. It gains an ability named Force Field. This ability helps it to defend itself against strong attacks. The card will get only 1 damage from attacks with 5+ power. And in the final level, it gains another power named slow. Though this ability is quite common amongst the monsters in splinterlands. But, the combination of these three abilities will surely make it invincible.

Then I used my healer and another strong attacker card. The name of this card is Goblin Psychic. The main reason that I use this monster is the tank heal ability of this monster. This ability helps it to heal the monster in the first of the lineup. It can also heal itself if it's positioned in the first place or eventually reaches that place. You'll also get to see the same scenario if you watch my battle. Also, this monster has a power level 2 magic attacking ability which increased to 3 with the help of the summoner I used.

Then I used the Khmer Princess. This card is quite interesting and useful too. It only costs 2 mana caps to use in battles. Yet it's a magic attacking card. Though this card has 1 magic attacking ability. But, with the help of the summoner, it gains 2 magic attacking abilities and becomes equally dangerous as the other strong monsters.

Then in the end I used a monster named Mycelic Morphoid. This monster costs only 1 mana cap to use in battles and has 1 melee attacking ability including 2 life. I use this in the end whenever I have 1 mana cap left after decorating my lineup. It also can protect my cards from 1 or 2 sneak attacks of the enemy monsters. It also comes in handy sometimes when all the friendly monster dies and all it takes is 1 attack to take down the enemy. Specifically, it comes in handy in the draw-draw situation.

It surely was a tough battle because we both used the same type of strategy and cards. But, it was my lineup that lead me to victory.

Hill Giant is a good tank option, especially when you're low on mana. Thanks for sharing!
