Jan. 1, 22: Routine, Helping Mom, TV, and Games
Woah, buddy! I fell asleep wicked early last night, like around six or so! š± Was watching some Norsemen and just couldnāt keep my eyes open. I did get up for a bit and got ready for bed properly, but I guess I needed itā¦slept until four thirty (which is a bit early) but ended up with a solid nine hours! š„³
Iād made plans to help Mom out today, so I got on with my usual morning stuff to get done with everything before I was scheduled to go over. Spent some time chatting with my doctor friend about the mechanism by which the vaccine can turn our immune systems against itselfā¦not just the stats, but the actual bio-chemistry of how itās occurring. Canāt say I understood all of it because of the jargon, but I think I understand enough to see more of a risk than the evident benefit (which even then is distorted by reduction in relative rather than absolute risk).
I want to do a Bayesian analysis to calculate the risk dispassionately, but that requires accurate probability both of catching the virus and then the probability of severe effects given that you have the virusā¦neither pieces of information are readily available and even what is isnāt necessarily trustworthy (numbers are skewed by testing and the way they count ācasesā as well as deaths - thereās a big difference between dying from Covid and dying with Covid). The Israeli study also shows a 20X increase in miocarditis from the vaccines versus the virus alone. š¤¬ Itās that mechanism that Iāve been trying to understandā¦I mean, having peoplesā immune systems weakened over time causing vaccine dependency is the best case scenario for the pharmaceutical companies, not to mention the heart problems and cancers; so hard not to think itās nefarious when they have a monetary incentive to keep us sick (and even moreso over the long haul).
Anyway, otherwise just the usual stuff. Did some dishes, took a shower, and did my post. I got summoned for jury duty. This is like the third or fourth time. So far I havenāt been selected, just had to show up for it, so weāll see. Itās a hassle as far as my teaching is concerned, but the right to a trial by jury is a keystone of our society and I know about jury nullification. š The judge doesnāt like it much when you tell them that you will ignore their instructions and make your own judgment based on the facts presented (which is your prerogative as a juror) and/or will vote not guilty on the basis of an unjust law!
Anyway, checked the markets, watched a bit of news on YouTube and then headed over with the doggy to Momās. The main thing she needed was moving a mirror from the back of her bedroom door to the bathroom. Took a bit of doing, but I got it alright. We noticed that the towel rack on the wall would smack against the mirror, and she didnāt want it there anyway, so I took that down and mounted it vertically next to the shower so she could use it as a handle getting in and out of the shower.
That was the major things and then a few odds and ends taking a couple things down the basement and then taking a look at her iPad to see if sheād messed anything up. She had some emails from Google saying a login attempt was blocked that she was concerned about. Seemed ok, thoughā¦I mean, the attempt was blocked. Still kindaā thinking we should have changed the password, but it was a good one and I didnāt see any other strange activity.
She was long overdue for an iOS update, though, so I helped her get that up to date which took forever. Got back home and grabbed some lunch and pretty much plopped in front of the tube for the rest of the day. Binged the rest of Norsemen, so Iām back on the hunt for something againā¦three seasons go hella quick!
I did feel a bit bad, though, there was a time there where I could have very well gotten some work done, but I put it off. š” Itās past the New Year now, though, so I really need to kick it into gear, especially getting ready for next semester. Also have a jury questionnaire I have to fill out and mail in (on threat - assholes) and a to-do list built up in my inbox. Need to go in and do the grocery shopping tomorrow, and I seriously need to get some gas, but hopefully I can get a few other things stricken from the list as well.
Once again my dShitty income is higher than the stated value and no extra fuckwittery other than the usual happening to make it any less! š² I got some tech or something that spawned, GMO Farmingā¦Iām assuming thatās a good thing but I canāt be bothered to mess with it.
Been trying to let CryptoFuckmaster go. Skipped this section of my post yesterday and was going to again today and just try and forget about it, but obviously that didnāt work. Still salty.
Just did a couple more missions on Rising Star, same as all the days for the last as long as I can remember. Iām thinking itās time to switch over and do some lessons for a bit to get my Ego back down. Itās currently high because of temporary drunks, but it was creeping up already anyway. Otherwise, not a lot happening with this.
I played a shitton of Splinterlands once again trying to dig myself out of the consequences of not playing last season. It only sortaā sucked. I did make some progress, but it feels like beating my head against a wall spending all this time and still having a whole tier of Silver to slog through just to uncripple my monsters. š¤¬
Couldnāt even get all the battles in my history.
Finally got out of Silver II, and hooray, still stuck in Silver.
I finished my Life quest from yesterday. Nothing major:
I got Life splinter again for my quest today and wasnāt having it, so I rolled the dice and came out with Sneak quest instead. Got a bit of DEC this time:
Card prices are down relatively speaking, so I went in on the market and picked up a few more of the Pelacore Mercenary, still need ten more (and only level seven then), but with flying and healing, could be a good backup.
I forgot to go in and claim the SPS drop today, not sure what happened thereā¦actually, I was busy at Momās during noontime when I would have thought about it, so that explains it. Otherwise, still waiting for vouchers to come back up a little more.
