Leagues in Splinterlands

The leagues in Splinterlands, ranging from Rookie to Champion, reflect a player's rating range based on their performance in Ranked Battles. Players do not choose to advance or stay in a league; as their rating increases, they are automatically moved to the appropriate league.

Impact of Leagues on Gameplay

  • To earn reward points, players must reach at least Bronze III in either Modern or Wild formats. If a player is Rookie in Wild but Bronze III in Modern, they will only be able to earn rewards in Modern battles.
  • By advancing to higher leagues, players can earn more Glint and SPS.
  • At the end of the season, player ratings reset for Modern and Wild leagues separately.

Splinterlands Leagues

There are six leagues in Splinterlands, spanning different levels of experience and skill. New players start in the Rookie and Bronze leagues, while more experienced players compete to reach Champion I.

As players advance through the leagues, rewards increase, and strategies become more complex. There are no limits on the levels of cards that can be used, other than those imposed by the Summoners themselves, meaning a player can quickly advance to a competitive rating for their cards.

League Descriptions

Rookie: This is the starting point for all new players. Only the standard ruleset is played here, and no seasonal rewards can be earned.

Bronze: The first league where additional rules are implemented. At this level, players start earning Glint and SPS, albeit in low amounts.

Silver: Common entry league where Glint and SPS earnings are slightly higher.

Gold: Mid-level players are concentrated here, with a good investment-to-earnings ratio.

Diamond: Top players fight their way up this league to achieve glory.

Champion: The highest league, where the top 50 players are rewarded in DEC tokens. All available rules are used, and Glint and SPS earnings are the highest.

Leagues in Tournaments

Leagues are also used to restrict the level of cards that can be used in tournaments. Players with higher-level combo cards can participate in lower league tournaments, but will only be able to use limited versions of their cards.

Seasons in Splinterlands

Seasons are the heartbeat of the game. Players compete in ranked battles to earn ranking points, which determine their SPS and Glint earnings per battle, as well as end-of-season rewards.
  • Season Length: They vary between 12 and 16 days, and the end of the season rotates to give players from all over the world the chance to compete in the final phase.

On the BATTLE page, players can see a universal countdown to the end of the season. Once a season ends, the next one begins immediately.

League/Tier Advancement

When a player reaches the required ranking points, they receive a pop-up notification indicating their league promotion. Advancing to a higher league means receiving better rewards for each battle won.

At the end of the season, a player's rating is reset and determines which league they will start the next season in. This reset applies separately to Modern and Wild leagues. To check the rating reset, the league page in the desired battle format can be accessed and click on "League Details".

No Battles, No Rewards

Players must actively participate in ranked battles to earn rewards. Details of the reward system can be found in the Season Rewards section.
