Village cats or local cats are the most common type of cat found in Indonesia. This cat lives wild in human residential areas, so it is also called a domestic cat. They survive by relying on leftover human food or hunting rats. However, village cats can also be adopted as pets at home.
Characteristics of domestic cats
In general, there are 3 categories of cat types, namely short, medium and long haired cats. Well, local cats include short-haired cats.
Apart from their short fur, the characteristic of domestic cats is their body posture which is slimmer than purebred cats. What are the characteristics?

There are several unique characteristics of village cats that differentiate them from other types of cats. This physical character is related to the way village cats find food and survive.

Hair. Most local cats have short fur. Their fur color also varies, from black, white, gray, yellow, orange, to a mixture of these colors.

Eye. The eyes of local cats are usually round or slightly oval. Their eye colors can also vary, including blue, green, brown, or yellow.

Tail. Local cats' tails are usually long and slender, but there are variations in length and shape. Some village cats have crooked or short tails due to genetic factors.
