BATTLE MAGE SECRETS ✶ GOING THE DISTANCE ✶ SECOND GO

The ruleset for this week's challenge

• Going the Distance - Only units with ranged attacks may be used

The ruleset that I managed to get

• Rulesets - Tis But Scratches, Little League & Going the Distance
• Mana Cap - 40
• Active Elements -

Here's my starting lineup

Summoner: General Sloan

• With this weeks challenge the best possible summoners you could go with are with either + or - ranged damage, + armor, Close Range or Return Fire
• In my case as Light was active I settled for General Sloan as he grants +1 ranged damage to my entire team

1st Position: Venari Marksrat

• Venari Marksrat was in the first position just to tank same hits and then die
• Mostly I was waiting for him to die and boost my 2nd position monster
• Martyr - When this Unit dies, adjacent Units get +1 to all stats

2nd Position: Venari Crystalsmith

• Venari Crystalsmith was my main tank for this battle
• I picked Venari Crystalsmith because of her Tank Heal ability
• Tank Heal - Restores a third of max health to the Unit in the first position each round

3rd Position: Great Porcupine

• Next up was Great Porcupine
• He was picked because of his Close Range ability
• Close Range - Units can perform ranged attacks from the first position

4th Position: Chaos Lackey

• Chaos Lackey was in my team just because I started to run out of cards to play and he had decent hp for a late tank
• Dispel - When this Unit hits an enemy, it clears all positive status effects on that enemy

5th Position: Peacebringer

• Peacebringer was my first main damage dealers
• For 4 mana I got 2 ranged damage, 3 speed and 4 hp

6th Position: Aria Bandit

• And for last but not least is Aria Bandit
• He was also picked just because of his 2 ranged damage
• Alongside the stats is his Snipe and Dodge abilities
• Snipe - Targets the first enemy Unit with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that is not in the first position with Ranged or Magic attacks
• Dodge - Has a 25% chance of evading melee or ranged attacks

Starting board

• The starting board didn't really say anything other than I went more offensive summoner and my enemy went with more defensive summoner with his +1 armor
• Based on that it seemed the battle could end in both ways
• So lets start the battle up and have a look

Here's how the battle went

1st & 2nd Round

• After first 2 rounds the battle still looked quite even
• This was also the point were I realized that Tis But Scratches was active and my Tank Heal was totally useless
• but I still had much damage left so I was hopeful

3rd Round

• 3rd Round was quite bad for me but I still had time to take down just 2 more enemy monsters to secure my victory
• I was quite sure I would win just because my enemy just didn't have any significant amount of damage left on the board

4th & 5th Round

• I managed to miss a couple of attacks but my damage was still high enough to take down my enemies 3rd and 2nd to last monster so now it was just a waiting game as my enemy didn't have a single damage left
• Next round was hopefully the last till my victory

6th & 7th Round

• It took me 2 rounds to kill my enemies last standing monster because I managed to miss 3 out of 4 attacks
• After his Merdhampir had fallen I took the victory

Summary

• This battle was definitely closer than I would've liked but win is a win
• I believe the battle came down to mostly damage difference
