As white as snow

cherry blossoms pl 11.jpg

The cherries are about to mature and I still have a pile of photos of their pretty flowers in my unedited folder waiting to see the light. We have a few large sour cherry trees, and every spring they cover in the delicate white flowers. Not every year they manage to bear the fruits because of the crazy weather. But the flowers are always there.

I didn't have big expectations going to the orchard that day. I wasn't sure if the trees were already in bloom. But as I was getting closer, I could see the white clouds among some still asleep dark branches from other trees.

The branches are high enough to be able to walk under them and just enjoy all the flowers around. This is definitely the best part of spring. The fruit trees blooming time doesn't last very long, but it is just spectacular!

Soon after the petals will start falling. They are so small and delicate that with each gust of wind, it looks like it is snowing :)

Being far away from the busy road, all I could hear was the insects buzzing around them. Tons of bees, flies, beetles (which I absolutely hate), and butterflies.

Poor thing had the winds all damaged, probably from a long trip. Time to feed, mate find the place to lay the eggs and their job is done.

And what is the best thing to do from cherries?
The sour cherry vodka of course! 🤤

I love such shots for the bokeh. I've been pointing my lens at a lot more trees and flowers too as of late. Especially nice now with all the colours coming out near the height of summer.

Though I'm really looking forward to autumn now.

Oh I am looking forward to autumn too. It is getting a bit too hot for me.

The sour cherry vodka of course! 🤤

Hmmm... I have never tried that.
But cherry sauce as a part of Sunday lunch was a norm at home when we were kids.

All those white flowers are amazing with the buzz of the bees ✨

Ohh we also used to make cherry soup in summer :D Which probably seem very weird. But it was super nice eaten cold on a hot day.

Such pretty pictures! I love the bokeh in the first ones and how white and pure the later ones look. Very nice.

You and me both, Ewkaw, you and me both - sigh.

Sour Cherry Vodka? Is that a Polish thing? I have never heard of it, hmm...

Hmm.. it might be, though there is something similar (but a lot weaker) in Portugal too.
For the Polish thing we use the strongest alcohol we can get, which is 95%. The end result is pretty strong, but super delicious and fruity.
We call it wisniowka

It sounds good but, unfortunately, I don't like sweet alcohol like liqueurs. I'd probably drink the vodka - LOL

A beautiful image that you put in my mind and I loved. Thank you.

I had never thought about cherries and alcoholic beverages, hence my ignorance on these subjects 🙂 - How about an ice cream? 😇

Ice cream too I guess... but that I have never done. Seems like too much work without a proper machine.
I can always pour some of the liquor all over ready made ice creams :P

I love how you captured the cherry blossoms and the way they look like snowflakes falling. It’s amazing how the flowers transform the orchard each spring.

It's good that you decided to visit the fruit orchard, and you could see the trees covered in beautiful white flowers.
I imagine being there and hearing the bees rise, beautiful shots dear friend @ewkaw

Just beetles :p Bees are awesome!

Haha!

I agree with the bee(s)
but beetles start with bee too ;<)

and don't tell me that you do like flies

there's plenty of annoying ones out here.
In fact, I can't think of a type of fly that I do like ;<)

Loads of beetles here too and they seem to appear out of nowhere
and even end up inside my house as if they have teleported.

Days ago, one entered my living room
and crashed into my guitar,
letting it ring.

I only found out that it was a beetle, later on.

Flies are annoying, but I dont hate them as much as beetles :p
Or moths.. actually I dont know what worse - a beetle or a moth... bleeehh

I see.

Plenty of moths here too. I don't necessarily mind them but they tend to make holes in things and are a bit clumsy.

The (rhinoceros) beetle that I discovered in my garden, yesterday, might freak you out a bit. I am considering to use the photo in today's post.

it was actually dead and dried out ;<)

Have a nice day!✨

Ohhh this one is pretty to look at. What I dont like about battles is that they fly a bit like moths - clumsy. And will hit your face and tangle in the hair... yuk!

I don't like 'battles' either ;<)

I get you. They do get stuck in my hair too, every now and then but so do flies ( for some seconds ) and some insects get a bit lost in my chest hair too, at times haha! Talking about chest hair, have you seen my recent post about Robin? ;<)

Have an amazing day!✨
