Everything blue...
Blue tiles, blue sky, blue water... there is so much blue in Portugal! Though you can find tiles (azulejos) in different colours, the deep blue must be the most popular and traditional. Pottery, fabrics, clothes... it all is often decorated in the blue flowers or sardines. Souvenir chops are filled with it!
And while you walk around the city, you will notice it everywhere too. It is such a nice colour after all.
This first building was probably the most blue I have seen. Not only was it big and covered in tiles, but also the fence and the wall around it. All matching :)
Balconies and doors too. Can't leave the doors behind, right?

It is really not hard to spot the pretty azulejos. But after this one, I decided to take photos of the blue ones when I see them. So here are a few more.
Three in a row! Boom!
Ok, no tiles on this one, but it is pretty blue. So it kind of counts :p
<br.
And when the whole building is not covered in them, they have historical scenes, saints, places...
These three I found on Carlos Lopes Pavillion in Lisbon. Very big, very detailed and very pretty!

Last thing is one of the longest mural I have seen. With multiple colours, but lets face it - it is mainly blue :D.
And it is painted tiles again.
André Saraiva is the creator of this magnificent piece. He created a world where two cities meet, Lisbon and Paris. The illustration is made with over 52 thousand ceramic tiles and it almost 188 metres long. It is located on Campo Santa Clara, just below Jardim Botto Machado.

I will have to go back there and take some more shots. I was in a bit of a hurry on that day and only took three shots as I passed it by. It is stunning and big and there are so many details to highlight.
It is right next to the lovely Pantheon.

Very very goood
Thank you!
Aw, I remember seeing such cool azulejos everywhere in Lisbon. So emblematic feature of Portugal :))
Yeaaa they are all over the place!
The blue nuanced scenery that you shared is very beautiful, I really like seeing it, seeing the color blue can also refresh the eyes and mind like we see the beautiful blue sea and the very spectacular blue sky.
That's true. Thank you :)
Amazing! Never seen so many blue tiles! These are very popular in Portugal! It’s nice to see long row of blue buildings.
Yea they are. Not only blue, there is plenty of green ones too. But blue is the most popular.
Green should be really nice too. Green colour is quite energising.
Blue tiles, and colourful dishes :) That's also Andalusia, and the south of Spain in general :) Plus women in red, flamenco style dresses :) Oh, sunny Andalusia. Not the place to be at this very moment, though, wait for September at least.
I bet it is burning hot red now :p
Beautiful building with nice style of architecture. Great shots @ewkaw ;)

Wow.... Beautiful streets today with all-blue finds, I was surprised and this fascinated me to see it, in the city of Portugal it turns out that there are many unique.
Cool my friend 🥰😍
Thank you!
Portugal is very distinguished by the azulejos, I love them, it connects me with my parents <3
I loved the pieces that my mother had for decoration, she brought them from Portugal, over the years they were broken, they were real relics.
Oh what a shame... I am sure they were very nice.
Everything blue captivates me. And also those walls with rainbows.
A pleasant walk through the blue city. Thank you.
Once you start noticing the blue, you will see it everywhere :D
My pleasure!

My wife's hometown has also blue tins used in the roof. I would go to the viewpoint to see it everytime I go there.
That's cool! And quite unusual. Here its mostly red or brown.
Beautiful blue buildings, full of tiles and site-specific art. How lovely it all looks, I bet you could walk around tirelessly, enjoying and taking pictures.
I send you greetings and congratulations for the work!
