Share your battle Weekly Challenge: Shadow Snitch

shadowsnitch.png

This weeks battle is a card that I actually own, the new Shadow Snitch. While death wasn't that strong for me before Chaos Legion I am loving it now.

The Card

The shadow snitch is a common death splinter monster in the new expansion. As you can see in the below stats hes pretty mediocre with just 1 damage, although it is nice he has more health than he costs to summon. It is not until level 4 where the Shadow Snitch picks up 1 more damage, but its not until level 6 where he really starts to shine in battles with the affliction ability. Paired with some other new chaos legion monsters the Shadow Snitch is no card to pass over, I enjoy using him to counter players that use heals.

Here are two Gold III battles from today from before I even noticed the Shadow Snitch was this weeks themed monster

The Lineup

My Team

Summoner: Thaddius Brood lvl 5
Tank: Cursed Windeku lvl 5
2nd: Shaddow Snitch lvl 6
3rd: Venari Bonesmith lvl 4
4th: Magi Necrosi lvl 3
5th: Weirding Warrior lvl 4
6th: Undead Badger lvl 4

Overall this is a great lineup. I chose the Cursed Windeku as my tank here due to his thorns and ability to heal himself, I know when I fight against him this always annoys me. As my second I used our card of the week the Shadow Snitch. With his reach and affliction he fits pefectly into this team. Next I chose the Venari Bonesmith. I used him for his life leech and poison, both very helpful against healing teams. My next choice was the magi necrosi, and chose this card for his ability to not be targeted and the snipe to help deal with any magic cards my oponent might play. Next was the Weirding Warrior, I chose this card for his Shatter and Amplify abilities. The shatter helps go through teams that play cards that give armor bonuses and the amplify helps with the Cursed Windekus torns. Lastly I used the Undead Bager here because I needed a sneak monster for my daily, although he fit in perfectly.

Opponents Team

Summoner: General Sloan lvl 3
Tank: Sunari Harvester lvl 4
2nd: Soul Fiend lvl 1
3rd: Xenith Monk lvl 2
4th: Doctor Blight lvl 2
5th: Venari Crystalsmith lvl 3
6th: Prismologist lvl 2

While good cards I don't think my opponnent chose wisely and I quickly demolished them only losing my tank the Cursed Windeku in round 3 due to his Doctor Blight landing an affliction in but I then finished the enemy off.

The Lineup

My Team

Summoner: Thaddius Brood lvl 5
Tank: Crypt Beattle lvl 6
2nd: Shaddow Snitch lvl 6
3rd: Silent Sha-Vi lvl 6
4th: Venari Bonesmith lvl 4
5th: Life Sapper lvl 5
6th: Venari Spellsmith lvl 4

This battle I was worried about. I always hated equilizer rule set but since Chaos Legion and having life leech and scavenge on more cards in my death collection has made them a little easier but still I'm always anxious about them however I think this was a pretty good lineup even with all the sneak monsters my opponent played.

I chose my tank as the Crypt Beattle due to its reduced damage ability which in this ruleset comes in very handy. Next I chose the Shadow Snitch for his reach and affliction, you can always count on tank or self heals at this level so affliction works wonders. Next I chose Silent Sha-Vi, with his sneak and cripple this is a good card to play in a death team where you know there will be high health enemies. The next two cards, the Venari Bonesmith and Life Sapper I chose both for their life leech abilities. In equilizer ruleset being able to get any health goes a long way. Lastly I chose the Venari Spellsmith, this was a rushed decision and was the weak link of the team, but thankfully this didn't cost me a win.

Opponents Team

Summoner: Malric Inferno lvl 3
Tank: Lord Arianthus lvl 2
2nd: Almo Cambio lvl 1
3rd: Cerberus lvl 3
4th: Uraeus lvl 2
5th: Elven Cutthroat lvl 4
6th: Kobold Miner lvl 4

Overall this was a great battle going 11 rounds. My oponents choices were very strong taking out my back 3 monsters. However some good dodges by Silent Sha-Vi and the SHadow Snitches affliction on Cerberus sealed the win.

Conclusion

Overall the Shadow Snitch isn't a bad card. He starts with more health than he costs and eventually gains damage and powerfull abilities and becomes more versatile the higher level he becomes and is a great fit for many differen't teams.

Thanks for the rundown! Are there are any rules, in particular, that you find Shadow Snitch fits into well? Or, is he more of a general purpose counter for players with healing in their last few matches?

For myself I tend to use Shadow Snitch based on the situation. I check what my opponents have been playing and if I see self heals and/or tank heals, especially the latter with both then if death is a valid splinter I go for shutting down those heals. It fits in well in most rule sets but honestly I find it more a situational card.
