Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge!

Hello everyone. Today I am going to share my battle.

Battle details: I played with death splinter and my opponent used a life splinter against me. Fire and Earth teams were banned in this battle.

Battle Ruleset

It was a battle with 48 mana cap and three rules:

Tis But Scrathes: All monsters have Cripple ability.

What doesn't kill you: All monsters have Enrage ability.

Melee Mayhem: Melee attack monsters can attack from any posittion.

Discussing My Lineup

Summoner,MIMOSA NIGHTSHADE level 3. This summoner lowers enemy ranged and magic attack powers and removes healing abilities from my enemies.

First Position, HYDRA level 3. Normally I would place this monster in last position but this battle had Melee Mayhem rule so I had to protect first position.

Second Position, LORD OF DARKNESS level 2. This monster can become stronger after taking damage and has Stun ability.

Third Position, GOBLIN MECH level 5. This monster has huge melee attack power and Piercing ability.

Fourth Position, ANCIENT LICH level 2 This monster can gain more health with Life Leech ability.

Fifth Position, CTHULHU level 2. Another powerful monster who has Stun ability.

My Strategy & Tips

I used HYDRA as my tank because I believed that my opponent will have some Melee monsters due to Melee Mayhem rule. So I hoped to protect remaining team from Melee attacks with HYDRA'S Heal, Thorns and Retaliate abilities. Two of my monsters had a stun ability so I was very likely to Stun enemy tank. I also hide ANCIENT LICH near the end of my team and protected him with monsters who had a lot of health- I did this because I wanted my ANCIENT LICH to gain more health.

Analysis of The Battle

Enemy killed my HYDRA faster than I would have liked. Even worse than that was that my ANCIENT LICH perished soon as well. So both of my main strategies failed. But I still had my double Stun strategy. It proved effective. Also my opponent had a few ranged units who became useless after being pushed to a first position. So in the end I still won but it was closer than I expected.
