SplinterGlossary: Back to Adding Land Definitions and More
This is the weekly update on the progress of SplinterGlossary.
What Is SplinterGlossary?
SplinterGlossary is that section of LeoGlossary that defines a glossary of inter-linked terms and definitions for Splinterlands. LeoGlossary is focused on financial, general crypto, but also including Hive and Leofinance terms and definitions, banking terms, insurance terms, and a series of specific lists.
Numbers of the Week
This week I added 1 new term, but I mostly started to define the terms from the glossary that were added recently and didn't have posts yet, so we are now at 324 terms and 12 lists.
Some Details
I started the week defining the two new rulesets introduced by Splinterlands:
While this may not be a big deal, I haven't seen these two new rulesets added at the time I checked anywhere else where I looked (other resource or interface) besides the release notes and the game when you have this ruleset for a battle (but you can't see a list of rulesets in the game, as far as I know).
Besides that, my focus was on land this week.
I updated the definition for land deeds and added a new term and definition for Land Plot Revealing, to reflect the initial iterations of the land rollout, separated for claiming deeds and revealing.
I also defined land resources, as a whole, and within I added the definitions to the 6 magical resources and linked them in the glossary as well.
I don't think I should define natural resources (grain, wood, stone, and ore) for now, because more information would be useful before I do that, like the types of terrain where each of them can be produced or have the best productivity on.
At first sight, I could just say grain production is best on plains, wood in forests, and ore and stone in mountains. What about the other 11 types of terrain? What natural resource is best suited for them?
Plans for Next Week
While I might take it slow until next year, land will still be a focus.
Final Words
Remember that the success or not of this project depends a lot on the contribution of others. When you use terms defined in SplinterGlossary in your Splinterlands/gaming posts, it would be great if you'd link them to those definition posts.
Also, if you notice something wrong with any defined terms, please let me know in these weekly updates.

Nice work. I have seen the new rule sets but I haven't really seen anywhere where you can see these changes. I hope there is like an update page or something where you can get the information instead of having to fight in-game to see them.

Yeah, that's a bit strange to me too. You can see the list of abilities (if you know where to look) on the Splinterlands game interface, but not the rulesets. They are in the support pages, but not the new rulesets, when I checked. The only place where I found them was in their release notes for the weekly releases. And then in-game, when battling. Probably that's where their reduced support staff shows, but I'd rather have them focus on the big things right now. Like land. :)
Thanks for sharing great and informative Knowledge about sprinterland.
I've been using SplinterGlossary pretty much every time I make a Splinterlands post and linking to abilities especially. One thing came to my mind, it would be nice and helpful if there was a small picture(ability logo) added next to the ability name.
What do you think? I know you must have your hands full though! 😃

I thought about adding images too. At the time I had my hands full and just wanted to get through the glossary and add all the definitions as text. But the time is close when I should improve this text with some images. It's good for SEO too.
Very cool. I'd be more than willing to help you do that, let me know if you need extra pair of hands!

Thanks for offering. It becomes quite a sync issue when multiple people post from the same account. It's been more than once that both I and Task wanted to work on Leoglossary account at the same time, and one of us had to stop and do something else because you can't create main posts more often than 5 minutes.
I see, that can really slow things down. Anyway, great job with the glossary! Since new stuff is added to the game pretty often you sure got some work cut out for you. :)
