SplinterGlossary: Updating Older Definitions Completed
This is the weekly update on the progress of SplinterGlossary.
What Is SplinterGlossary?
SplinterGlossary is that section of LeoGlossary that defines a glossary of inter-linked terms and definitions for Splinterlands. LeoGlossary is focused on financial, general crypto, but also including Hive and Leofinance terms and definitions, banking terms, insurance terms, and a series of specific lists.
Numbers of the Week
This week I have added 2 new terms to the glossary but haven't defined them, so we are now at 323 terms and 12 lists.
Some Details
Incredible, but it's done! Updating older definitions are out of my to-do list for the time being. But it'll probably come back at a later time, as this is a cyclical thing, especially since Splinterlands changes so often and information current today may not be actual in two weeks or a month.
Splinterlands added two new rulesets. I only added the terms, but haven't defined them yet, because I was focused to finish the updating process. Their turn will come next week.
Plans for Next Week
Next week I'll start adding new things to the glossary. Besides the two new rulesets, land will be the main focus. Although I hoped to have even more information than we currently do, there is enough to be added from what we know already and I haven't gotten to it until now.
Final Words
Remember that the success or not of this project depends a lot on the contribution of others. When you use terms defined in SplinterGlossary in your Splinterlands/gaming posts, it would be great if you'd link them to those definition posts.
Also, if you notice something wrong with any defined terms, please let me know in these weekly updates.

What kind of land have you bought?
It is a lot of work but worth it. LeoGlossary is a great addition to Hive.

Yes, it is. If we only count it through its informational value in our ecosystem, where it may become a preferred source of information in some cases, it's worth it.
Keep up the good work!

Thanks, Barb.
Excellent work!
Thanks.
Thanks for all the work with Splinter Glossary. I was also a bit confused when I saw the new rule sets. It took a while to get use to it but it's putting more and more abilities in front of people.

They may want to give a harder time to bots to adapt by coming out with new rulesets regularly, as one of the measures.
I guess it could but the bots will generally adapt faster than the players once they get used to it. I feel that it is more of a way to delay that.

That's the point, I think, to disrupt their dominance for a short while. Then, when they adapt, do it again.
I disagree about bots adapting faster. I think people adapt to changing rules faster than Splinterlands bots do. They lose in the long term, once bots catch up, though.
I might have been wrong about the bots adapting but I think more rule sets in the long run just make it more complicated for everyone. At this point, there just seems to be way too many for any new user to get used to. So I wonder if it's hurting the game more than it helps to fight the bots.

I don't bother learning new rulesets. I just see what the rulesets are when the game starts. And based on them take decisions in the time needed to select the lineup. Maybe it won't be optimized, but with a growing number of rulesets and abilities, it seems the only way to manage them all.
Btw, Matt mentioned he is thinking to add 3 rulesets instead of 2 to fight bots. To be honest, I believe that would be too much for humans to take in. And, the question is, do we want to reduce the influence of bots at the expense of user experience?
