Splinterlands Weekly Battle Challenge - Life Sapper

If I were to be gifted a Splinterlands ability, I would go for Life Leech as Life Sapper has. The crazy skill is nearly unstoppable by your rival and it shows its impact from the mid-game!

This week we will be talking about Life Sapper! I love this monster and use it frequently as it only requires 3 mana and the life leech may make it reach up to 7-8 HP through the end of the battle. When it can increase its HP, Life Sapper can be a great fit for backline supporters!

As you can see on the screenshot, the monster gains 2 Magic points starting from level 4. I believe Gold or Silver league players should aim to make it level 4 ASAP!

Here I'll show you the way I use it in my battle.

Team Set Up.png

My team set up did not have a solid structure as I wanted to counter attack my rival rather than playing my own game. I strongly advice each new player to check previous battles of your rivals to counter them. So, I did it.

In my team set up, I used Mantoid and Life Sapper in the last positions because I knew that the rival will have sneak ability monsters to hunt my source of damage down. To counter him/her, I used 2 sneak ability monsters to sneak into its killers 🔥

Mantoid and Life Sapper took the damage on themselves by protecting Undead Badger and Sha-Vi to kill them all. In total, 4 attack turns were taken by my brave backliners to win the battle. RIP.

In terms of the first and second positions, I cared about snipe and close range melee attacks to be absorbed. Thorns and Scavanger skills made it possible to eliminate the boring battle in the first positions. Both sides did not make any surprising move in the first line. The battle was backliners battle ⚠️

Strengths Weaknessses.png

The strength of my team was that I countered my rivals' moves to get the battle. So, any plan the rival had in his/her mind was not affective because I had a solution for each of them. I was able to hunt the hunter with my well-organized plan.

Meanwhile, Life Sapper was dealing nice damage of magic to the first liner but the speed was a determinant factor to get closer to the victory in bronze battles.

image.png

The most obscure weakness of my team was that I did not have a plan for 3 sneak ability monsters. In the case that rival would use Sha-Vi, Skeleton Asassin and Undead Badger, I would do nothing but for watching the rival wipe my monsters out!

Life Sapper and Mantoid were good choices in terms of playing my own game but a little difference in the plan would destroy all my team in 4-5 rounds!

The Battle Results.png

The result is victory in my side thanks to my solution for each threat of my rival. Life Sapper and Mantoid were used for half-defensive purposes as my rival was playing a sneak game against me.

Hunting the sneak with sneak focused battle was a good move for me!

I believe players should look through the monsters and find more affective ways to utilize them in the battle field. Never forget the fact that monsters are playing a team game 😉

Watch the battle and share your insight. What would you do against my team set up?
