Weekly Battle Challenge (2) - Life Sapper -> the Late Gamer!
I believe Life Sapper and its Life Leech ability is one of the most undervalued things in Death teams. In the battles that are going pretty balanced, the skill of Life Sapper is working like a saver!
For many low mana and bronze battles, we can expect a long battle process that may take up to 10 rounds. In such cases, many people disregard the potential of Life Leech to create a brand new off-tank for the late times.
Imagine you pay 3 mana for a semi-tank that is also a Magician! That's what Life Sapper does with low mana 😉
I had a nice battle with a well-organized rival team. In my team set, I cared about protecting them with +1 Armour as the majority of my monsters have low HP to go against opportunity attackers. In the first position, I enjoy combining Thorns of Windeku with +1 Armor.
For the second position, I used Shadow Snitch to deal 1 melee attack and be another off-tank for the team. I used 2 magic attackers + 1 ranged attacker that can deal 4 points of damage while they are kept in a good shape.
Finally, I used Repair ability to strenghten my tank that deals 2 attack points to those who dare to attack it 😉
My rival also had a solid team that consists of off-tanks, magic and ranged attackers with a great harmony. Though the team looks pretty useful, the first attack of snipe wiped the magician of my rival out even before it shows up itself. So, when the tank of mine was saved from the threat of magic attacks, it became much easier to apply my own rules!
The magic attack points of Life Sapper made it faster to kill Serpent of Elt as it is good at avoiding damage. Yet, Thorns and magic attacks were unavoidable for it, as well 🔥 From the first moment, it was in trouble.
When the tank was eliminated, the rival had a second tank to cover its absence. Yet, it would not be possible to destroy my team of which the monsters are still at max capacity,
My team had a fine balance of defense and attack against my rivals' balanced team. What was missing in my rivals team set up was a precaution against Life Sapper's magic attacks in the first position.
When my team directed its focus to the first liner, it was not likely to resist it. Also, as the time passed, my team gained more power because Life Sapper was increasing its HP each round!
Magic attack and growing HP were too dangerous for rivals Ranged based damage set up!
When there was nobody to cover the magicians and ranged attackers, we saw the real meaning of power!
Imagine you have a battle with a magic attacker that grows each turn. Clearly, the rival ranged attackers had no chance to eliminate it.
I had some weaknesses as well. Though I used repair for my tank, 2 opportunity battlers would not let my magic attackers and ranged ones to stay alive and eliminate the rival mosters. Luckily, 1 opportunity attack per round was not enough to kill monsters with +1 armor protection. Otherwise, I would have lost the battle in 5-6 rounds.
The result was victory. In the end, I had a tank magic attacker 😂
I really love using Life Sapper combined with different battle strategies. Though Death monsters are low in HP, they are really functional to take counter positions against other elements.
Life Sapper is a great tool if you can manage it. Once again, I appreciate its amazing contribution to my battle.
Please Watch the battle and tell me how you can use Life Sapper as a magic attacker + tank at the same time?
