The Episode Challenge: Dominion; Pt. 2

This week's @thepeoplesguild challenge is actually the 2-part of their 3-part challenge which involves the creation of totally new set of cards, which could replace the current Gladiator set we have. The set's name will be Dominion and the name of the monsters - Domineers.

This second part of the challenge is about the creation of a Legendary card and two Common cards which take on the abilities I have already created in part 1 of the challenge (you can see my post about it HERE).

So, the card I have decided to make my Legendary one is the Fire one. I have named it - Flaming Domineer:

  • First and foremost it has its signature ability at Level 1:
    Domineer's Rage - When the Domineer takes direct damage - Boost the attack of all Melee Monsters on the team by +3 until the Domineer either dies or gets healed. I think it is important for it to get the most significant ability off the bat because otherwise people in Novice/Bronze won't have the chance to experience such an interesting ability.
  • Then at level 2 it gains Rebirth - I think Rebirth synergizes very well with the card as it is returned to life at 1 Health which means that it will continue buffing its brothers in arms.
  • Finally at level 4 it gains Shield - again if the point of the card is to be injured but still alive, it needs to have some sort of resilience to damage.
  • I've set the cost at 9 mana because the buff it provides it actually very powerful on a lot of occasions (as long as you make it work) and with the introduction of debilitations making it work is not that hard (wink, wink).

Next is the first of two Common cards. It's the Life one - Perseverant Domineer:

  • Of course, it starts with its signature ability at level one:
    Life: Domineer's Perseverance - Whenever a friendly Monster is Resurrected, grant +1 Life to all friendly Monsters. Resurrection is the bread and butter of the Life Element so you can imagine this ability can quickly have a significant impact on the battlefield if its set up correctly.
  • It gains Reach at level 8 cause before that it might a be a bit too powerful, especially since we have Elias available.
  • I've limited the abilities to two as I don't think a Common card should have more than one or two abilities.

    And the second Common card I've decided to include is the Death One (shout-out to Bjangles :D) - Pestilent Domineer:

  • Again the signature ability of the card is available at level 1:
    Death: Domineer's Pestilence - Whenever a friendly Monster successfully lands Poison on an enemy Monster, grant all friendly Monsters +1 Speed for 1 Round. There's plenty of Poison to go around in the Death Element so be patient everyone, you won't MISS out on it.
  • It gains its second ability - Camouflage at level 8. Camo is a typical ability for the poisoners of old so I think it's pretty fitting for this guy as well.
