'Empire' - New Original Music - A New Splinterlands Inspired Song - Orchestral/Instrumental + Walkthrough
So this is an idea that came randomly
last night, as I was playing with a LABS 'Textural Pad' sound (in Track 2). I outlined a 4 chord proression, and really liked it, though initially I thought it might be something electronic/modern. However, I wound up adding Track 3, the Spitfire String Quartet, and decided to go in the orchestral, Splinterlands 'adventure game' direction. After the intro, we change to 5/4, and drop the BPM a little bit, and also change the vibe entirely. The sort of whimsical, happy vibe in the intro (and outro) are replaced with a driving, staccato cello/bass part, which is joined by some legato strings, staccato brass, and the Spitfire String and Brass quartet instrument. There are 3 parts, which (in Track 4) are Pink (A), Yellow (B) and Green (C). In Pink, we play Cmin, Bb, F(major). In Yellow, Fmin, Dmaj (which adds the dissonant F#), G, and Ab. Finally, in Green, Cmin, Ab, Amin, and F. As you can see, we're in Cmin, but there are some dissonant notes that show up pretty often (A natural, F#), which turned out pretty cool. Tracks 7 and 8 are the string and brass quartet instrument, but wind up sounding a bit like solo instruments, with the strings adding a little melody part over a few of the A sections, and the brass over some of the C sections. I have actually already worked on this song, and expanded it, though I think I maybe added too much, or too many complicated other parts anyway, so I'll share that tomorrow, then simplify things a bit, and share that the day after.

I just checked it out and enjoyed it a lot! Not that I don't absolutely love all the SPL music too of course :D
Thanks for listening, I appreciate it!
