Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge: Equal Opportunity

Designed by canva
Hello warriors, and my friends, how are you doing today? It is a great day here. It is our summer season, everything seems hot.
I couldn't go out in the morning due to the weather. The weather was so hot to the extent I could not go out until the sun set.
After the sunset, I went out for a program; when I was coming from the program, I branched in the market to get fruits.
Well! Commodities were very expensive despite that the Naira appreciated. This is the kind of country I'm in; whatever goes up doesn't come down again. Despite the fact the dollar came down a bit, marketers are still selling products at a higher price. Even our local made products are selling at high prices.

I wanted to make this post the moment it was posted in splinterlands blog but I was already writing an article then. Therefore, I must finish the article I was writing before starting the Battle Mage Secrets weekly Challenge

Last week's battle mage secrets challenge was about ‘Equalizer’. I have read many articles about equalizer ruleset. I was engrossed with the @oadissin lineup: despite the monsters available being limited, he couldn't use his best monster due to the rise of the common and odd ones out rules. He made use of available monsters in the battle, and won the battle. That is what we call skill.
Another battle I watched was @mad-runner, I love his arrangement so much. He combined different attacks- ! melee, magic and ranged while his opponent was using two attacks- melee and ranged. It was one of the reasons it was difficult to eliminate Diemonshark as it was reborn. If there was Djinn Oshannus in the opponent lineup, it wouldn't have been difficult to eliminate Diemonshark in the second times.
If you look at my lineup up in the last week battle mage challenge; all the attacking monsters I use were magic attacks. If I ! mistakenly use a melee monster in the battle, I might end up losing the battle. I understand the importance of monsters with affliction and poison ability; that was the reason I used two monsters with affliction in the battle. Thank goodness I used them, my opponent used two monsters with the ability to heal. Without the two monsters, I don't think I could destroy a monster from his lineup.

Rules of the battles
Equal Opportunity: All monsters have the opportunity ability.
This rule is one of the interesting rules in splinter. Melee monsters can attack in any position, taunt ability monster is a monster that can attract the attention of other monsters; it is very good to use taunt monster.
When this rule is activated, monsters target monsters with the smallest health. That was the reason I used martyr ! monsters in this battle.
I have been given an Equal opportunity with Equalizer before; and when such two rules are given, a player should make wise decisions when choosing a monster in the first position and last position. I was paired up with players several times! It was like he understood my lineup. He came from behind and destroyed all my monsters. I didn't expect him to come from behind.

Heavy Hitters: All monsters have the knockout ability.
This is where a monster with stun ability is very useful. But I can't use my stun monster here because it would be destroyed in the first round. It wouldn't have been given a chance to attack.
When a monster is stunned, the next monster that will attack a stunned monster will damage the 4 health or armor from the monster if the melee or ranged attacks of the attacker is 2.

Born Again: All monsters have the rebirth ability.
I already knew that martyr monsters would increase the stats of adjacent monsters twice. That was the reason I used two Martyrs adjacent to the most powerful monsters in this battle.

Mana: I was able to make a good decision from the 51 mana. The mana gave me the opportunity to choose my best monsters and a summoner for this battle.

Arrangements

Lobb Lowland
Summoner: Earth 🌎🌍
Level: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ability: All enemy monsters have -1 speed and;
Conscript which allows the use of one additional gladiator card in battle.
Mana: 6

The only way to use a gladiator card in this battle was to use a monster with conscript ability. That is the summoner that could allow me to use a gladiator card.
I understood the importance of the gladiator card in this kind of a battle; and that was the reason I used Lobb Lowland summoner.
My opponent understood that players often use melee monsters when Equal opportunity is given: he used Zintar Mortalis and Octopider to reduce the attack of my melee monsters. He achieved the aim by reducing all my melee attacks to 1. I was not expected to win the battle.

Monsters Arrangements

Mycelic Infantry
Splinter: Earth 🌎🌍
Level: 1⭐
Speed: 1 🚤
Ability: Shield 🛡️🛡️
Health: 7❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Armor: 3🪖🪖🪖
Attack: Melee
Mana: 8
The shield ability was the major reason I used Mycelic Infantry. I believed with its shield ability, it would delay from destroying all my monsters.
I have used different moneters without Mycelic Infantry in this type of battle, all proved abortive. The shield 🛡️ of Mycelic Infantry was something I like. If I have used Terraceous Grunt of which I selected first later replaced by Mycelic Infantry. I wouldn't have won the battle.

Grund
Splinter: Earth 🌎🌍
Level: 1⭐
Speed: 3🚤🚤🚤
Ability: double attack
Health: 10 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Attack: Melee
Mana: 10
If you ask me the reason I used this monster, I would tell you that because of its double attack. since my opponent used Zintar Mortalis and Octopider to reduce melee of my monsters; Gund had one melee attack which was not enough to damage as I had expected.
Before the start of the battle, I already calculated that a double attack of Grund would damage six health or armor. By the time I saw that its melee was reduced by -2, I gave up from the monster.

Fungus Flinger
Splinter: Earth 🌎🌍
Level: 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Speed: 1🚤
Ability: Martyr and Blind
Health: 4❤️❤️❤️❤️
Attack: Range
Mana: 3
I needed to gain more speed, and attack in this battle. That was the reason I used Fungus Flinger.
Fungus Flinger was a trap in this battle. Based on the rules of the battle, monsters with the smallest health would be the first to attack. I knew that after the elimination of Venari Marksrat, The next monster was Fungus Flinger.
The purpose of bringing Fungus Flinger into the battle was to increase the stats of adjacent monsters- Grund and Quora Towershead of which it did.
Fungus Flinger did not reach the second round, it was eliminated in the first round. My purpose of using it was to increase the attack of adjacent monsters which it does.

Quora Towershead
Splinter: Earth 🌎🌍
Level: 1 ⭐
Speed: 3🚤🚤🚤
Ability: Heal and Bloodlust
Health: 11❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Attack: Melee and Magic
Mana: 10
This is my faith in this battle, that was the reason I selected Lobb Lowland summoner in this battle; the same reason I used two Martyrs monsters one in the left and the other in the right. All this was to increase the stats of Quora Towershead.
By the time both martyr monsters were eliminated; her magic and ranged attacks increased from one to 5, her speed increased from 3 to seven while her health increased from 11 to 15.

Venari Marksrat
Splinter: Neutral
Level: 2 ⭐⭐
Speed: 1 🚤
Ability: Martyr
Health: 3 ❤️❤️❤️
Attack: Range
Mana: 3
The same reason I selected Fungus Flinger was the same reason I selected Venari Marksrat. It was the monster with lowest health, therefore I placed it in-between Quora Towershead and Flesh Golem to increase there stats. I needed Quora Towershead the most in this battle.

Flesh Golem
Splinter: Earth 🌎🌍
Level: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐
Speed: 3🚤🚤🚤
Ability: Heal
Health: 9❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Attack: Melee
Mana:6
One of the reasons I selected Flesh Golem was the healing ability. I thought Flesh Golem would be able to hold opponent monsters for long period of time.
Drybone Raider distabikized my plan. I did not expect Flesh Golem to die very fast. But it could not hold Drybone Raider for long due to double attack ability. The summoner (Zintar Mortalis) and a monster (Octopider) reduced the melee attack of Flesh Golem to 1. There was no effect on opponent lineup.

Round 1
One of the terrifying monsters to encounter during Equal opportunity, supersneak and melee Mayhem is Drybone Raider.
Phantasm was the monster that started the attack, it eliminated Venari Marksrat. Venari was reborn due to the rebirth ruleset.
Quora Towershead only increased the magic attack from 1 to 2. Hence, Quora Towershead could not eliminate opponent Venari Marksrat. It was Flesh Golem that finally eliminated it.
By the time Venari Marksrat was finally eliminated in the first round, Quora Towershead got 3 magic and 2 melee.
I got scared when the opponent Venari Marksrat was eliminated a second time; Drybone Raider melee increased to 4 and the range increased to 3.
What made me scared was that at round 1 after the elimination of Venari Marksrat, Drybone Raider damaged 14 health or armor from my monsters; that was just too much.
By the end of round one, two monsters were eliminated from my lineup.
Quora Towershead melee increased to 4 while the magic increased to 5.

Round 2
At the beginning of round two, Mycelic Infantry was eliminated. I was left with three monsters while my opponent had 5 monsters in his lineup.
Toward the end of second round, Flesh Golem was damaged to one health.
That was how I lost hope of winning the game.
At this point, I began to think of losing the game. Then, I skipped the game; by the time I saw the battle result, I was the winner. Then, I replayed the battle.

Round 3
In round three, Opponent Goblin Mech was eliminated by Quora Towershead. Flesh Golem was eliminated from the lineup.
At the end of round three, I was left with only 2 monsters.
I was not happy when Flesh Golem missed the attack in the third round.

Round 4
By the end of round 2, I was left with only Quora Towershead.
Quora Towershead was a monster with highest speed; it attacked phantasm twice and eliminated it. Phantasm could not have opportunity to attack in round 4. Her magic attack increased to 8 and melee attack to 7.
Grund was eliminated in round 4. I was left with only Quora Towershead while my opponent was left with three monsters.

Round 5
Drybone Raider was eliminated; Drybone Raider could not attack in in this round.
Octopider and Phantom Soldier damaged the health of Quora Towershead.
In round 6, Drybone Raider was finally eliminated by Quora Towershead. Her mahic attack increased to 9 and melee attack to 8.
At this moment, Quora Towershead was too strong to destroy.

Round 7
Phantom Soldier was eliminated.
In round 8 Octopider was eliminated.
