2 new promo cards released! Splinterlands Social Media Challenge!

Today, I want to talk about the release of the two latest promo cards made by the @splinterlands team as part of the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge!. 🎯

I. Introduction 📝

These two new promo cards haven't been officially announced yet, but were teased during the latest Town Hall by @yabapmatt and @nateaguila. As usual, the cards are subject to change before their official release. Word is, Delya will be getting a Backfire ability in addition to her current kit! 🔥

In one of my recent posts, I reviewed the two current promo cards for sale after testing them out (Elanor Bravefoot and Sanctus Vicar). However, this time, I'm switching things up! I'm going to analyze these cards before trying them out, which is risky in a game like Splinterlands, where performance can only truly be judged on the battlefield. 🛡️ If any new details emerge—like the stats per level—I'll be updating this post accordingly. Anyway, let's dive into the analysis! 💡

II. Delya: The Untouchable Sharpshooter 🏹✨

• Mana: 9 🔋
• Attack: 4 (Ranged) 🎯
• Speed: 5 ⚡
• Life: 6 ❤️
• Abilities: Dual Strike, Amplify, Dodge, Backfire (to be confirmed)

Offensive Capabilities 💥

With 4 ranged attack combined with Dual Strike, Delya is a serious threat. The decision to give her 4 attack is deliberate—it avoids the Forcefield counter, which reduces any attack of 5 or more to just 1. With Dual Strike, she essentially hits for 8 total damage each turn! That is an insane damage output per turn if you think about it. Any unit without shield wont last much.🔥💣

Defensive Capabilities 🛡️

Her 5 speed, Dodge, and Backfire make her a nightmare for Sneak and Opportunity monsters, especially since many of them rely on melee attacks. Miss a hit against Delya, and you'll pay for it with Backfire damage! Not only that. The backfire will be bosted by Delyas own amplify ability.
Her only drawback is the 6 health and lack of armor. Any hit that lands could spell trouble, especially from magic attacks or abilities like Aim True that WONT MISS AT ALL. 🧙‍♂️💥

Other Stats & Considerations 🧠

As a Legendary Neutral card, she’s incredibly versatile, fitting into almost any team. But at 9 mana, she’ll be expensive to field, making her difficult to slot into lower mana matches. Still, Amplify synergizes beautifully with Backfire, making her punishing to those who miss their attacks. ⚡ However, with a price tag of 50,000 DEC per BCX, a maxed Delya will set you back 550,000 DEC. 💸

Conclusion on Delya 💭

Delya is a beast, no doubt about it. The team went all-in to justify her high cost, but is she really worth it? 🤔

Personally, I won’t be buying her. Despite being a great addition to any deck, she’s outside my budget. I’ve previously mentioned how I only bought a level 2 version of the current promo card (Elanor) because that was all that I could afford and the card seemed quite good even if you wouldn't be able to max it. But Delya seems different. She seems like a card that needs to be maxed out to really shine—otherwise, there are better and cheaper options available. 💸✨

III. Night Stalker: The Sneaky Assassin 😈⚔️

• Mana: 4 🔋
• Attack: 4 (Melee) 💀
• Speed: 4 ⚡
• Life: 5 ❤️
• Abilities: Sneak, Execute, Blast
  
  

Offensive Capabilities 💣

Night Stalker is all about raw damage. With 4 melee attack and Sneak, he targets the backline while dealing collateral damage with Blast. Combine this with Execute, and he has the potential to wipe out weaker backline units in one turn! 🎯

Defensive Capabilities 🔰

There’s little to discuss here. With only 5 life and no defensive abilities, Night Stalker will need external protection. However, his low mana cost and devastating offensive kit make him well worth the risk. ⚔️

Other Stats & Considerations 🧠

At 4 mana, he’s incredibly versatile, usable into both Fire and Death splinters. However, he faces stiff competition from other Sneak and Opportunity attackers like Torch Vizier, Fenmoor Haunt, Gobalano Soldier, etc. Still, he is probably superior to all of them for all the reasons stated above. 🏆 His low mana cost makes him especially valuable in Little League and low-mana matches. 🔥

Conclusion on Night Stalker 💭

Night Stalker offers tremendous value at a relatively low cost. With 3,000 DEC per BCX, a max-level card will cost around 270,000 DEC (I calculated the cost substracting the potential Dec you would get back by selling the Gold Foils). Given his insane damage output, I’ll definitely be buying this card! 💰🎯

IV. Final Thoughts

As you can probably tell, I’m not super happy with the price of both cards.
I feel like they should have been cheaper and more affordable, especially Delya because of its high mana its going to be a card hard to fit in most teams.
Anyway once again both of these promo cards are strong additions to the Splinterlands meta. The Splinterlands team continues to raise the bar, making these cards highly desirable. For me, while I won’t be getting Delya, I’m all in on Night Stalker!

I really didn't go into the leaderboard and the title I will probably get for participating but you guys should also keep that in mind when planning for the buy.
