@thepeoplesguild placed a bounty on the elusive @yabapmatt, and I couldn't resist the Challenge. I set off across Praetoria, determined to defeat the person responsible for all of us being here today. It was a tough task, not easy to find, but after days of relentless searching, I finally caught sight of him. There he is. He’s hanging around a 4000 rating, so he’s not an easy opponent. 💪

Let’s get right into the Fight! ⚔️

I have to admit it. I cheated. I used Tofu. 🥋 I know its not nice but I use Tofu every chance I get. Let’s be honest, it’s literally the best summoner out there. But, in all fairness, it wasn’t really Tofu who made the difference in this fight.
If you look closely, you’ll see that YABA was even sneakier than me by using Risqruel Drath to give taunt to my main tank to take advantage of Ferocity.

I mean, c'mon MATT, THAT’S NOT EVEN FAIR! That’s a sick combo, I wasn’t even thinking about it when I made my team. When I saw it, I was really mad for not thinking about it myself.
Rant over. Let’s take a look at the rulesets first. 🎮

Rulesets:

Melee Mayhem 💥

Melee attack monsters can attack from any position. This is the reason I chose Tofu for this fight, and it’s the reason YABA decided not to play a single melee unit in the backline. Basically, we both ignored this ruleset. 😅

Equalizer: 🗿

The initial health of all monsters is equal to that of the monster on either team with the highest base health. This was a crucial ruleset for this fight and the reason I used Djinn Biljka in the 3rd position. Using Clockwork Aide with Weapons Training like Matt did is also a very smart strategy.

Ferocity: 🐾

All monsters have the Fury ability. Probably the most ignored ruleset out there. Just don’t use taunts.
Of course, that doesn’t work if the enemy throws taunts at you. 😬

Here’s how long my tank lasted in this fight:

As you can see, I took a lot of damage because every enemy unit had Fury, and Yaba decided to give taunt to my tank. Not fun. 😡

Nevertheless, Yaba forgot something very important! To bring a strong tank of his own! 😏

At the start of turn 2, I had no tank, but his "tank" was almost dead too. Oh, my good friend Yaba, you forgot that a fiend is not a tank. Not at all. Very squishy, very easy to kill. After just one of my attacks, his tank was out, and his Pyrewatch Devil was left in the first position. I guess that was his plan all along. He probably thought the fiend and the Pyrewatch would have enough health to work as meat shields.

But the truth is, they weren't. By the 3rd turn, I was almost done with the Pyrewatch Devil, and soon only two damage dealers remained on his team. He chose to play Scavo Chemist in the backline, probably to keep cleansing the frontline and to protect against sneaks, but he should know by now that nobody uses sneaks if Tofu is available. 🧠 He probably could’ve used another meat shield in the frontlines.

It’s important to mention that my Acid Shooter was able to poison his Thane, so the Thane was slowly dying each turn. ☠️

I’m guessing you can already see where this fight is going. In a few turns, he was left with no damage dealers, and the Thane was almost dead. My heals were just too strong for him, and I was able to keep my units alive longer. 💉💪

In the end, I managed to get the win and was rewarded some SPS for it:

Conclusion

This was a very interesting fight. At first glance, I honestly thought I was going to lose. I thought my opponent had outsmarted me with the Fury and taunt strategy. Maybe if he had targeted my healer, he could’ve won. The strategy was really good. 👍 But at the end I managed to walk out with the win. I guess sometimes things work out for the best for you. I'm sorry I defeated you @yabapmatt but it just had to be done.
