Brawl Report #103: Winning more than half of my matches

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. Rebellion has also changed the battles and I keep losing my fights recently. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches but I didn't win many matches this time again. It's the first time in a while since I have more wins than losses.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 3 wins. There were 3 free wins in this match because three guilds didn't submit someone for a match. My rewards for the brawl were 5,286 merits and 78.917 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 3rd place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. It's the first time in a while since our guild placed so well and 3rd place is pretty good.

Brawl fights

There were 2 that I won and 3 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I lost this match. My opponent just had the stronger lineup due to the speed difference. There wasn't much I could do when my opponent got the first move in.

You can find the second match here. I won this match because of the shield monster. It survived long enough for me to kill my opponent.

You can find the third match here. I won because of my stun monster. It stunned the bloodlust monster and decreased the damage that I took. The rest was covered by my tank heal and repair monster.

You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had the stronger lineup. My damage was also too spread out so I couldn'tfocus down my opponent.

You can find the fifth match here. I lost the match but it was close. I missed an attack towards the end but it was fairly close as a match.

Conclusion

I think doing 8 fights for 5,286 merits and 78.917 SPS is a good reward for the effort. I got a lot of free wins and I didn't get destroyed as much in my brawl fights. This has been the best brawl so far in a while because I have been losing more than I win lately.
