Brawl Report #80 - Won all but one match

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. Rebellion has also changed the battles and I keep losing my fights recently. It's a rare change but I was able to win almost all of my matches.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern brawl and got 8 wins. There was 2 guild that did not assign a participant in my brawl so there were 2 free wins. My rewards for the brawl were 2,611 merits and 21.693 SPS in the 3 star category. My guild ranked 6th place out of the 10 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. We didn't rank that well this time around.

Brawl fights

There were 4 that I won, 2 won due to surrender, and 1 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I lost this match and I couldn't do anything about the magic monsters. The taunt was also annoying so there wasn't much I could do against my opponent.

You can find the second match here. I won this match and I was able to take out my opponent's backline faster than he could take out mine using opportunity.

You can find the third match here. I won this match and I was lucky to have my scattershot monster target the front monster. This allowed me to kill off one attacker and win the match.

You can find the fourth match here. I won this match and the repair worked out well. It kept my tank alive and it gave me enough time to kill my opponent's lineup. The bloodlust monster did a great job of dealing damage as well.

You can find the fifth match here. I won this match and I am glad that my bloodlust monster was able to land most of its attacks. By the end of the match, the damage just added up and I think my choice of picking high health monsters worked out to my advantage.

Conclusion

I think doing 7 fights for 2,611 merits and 21.693 SPS is a good reward for the effort. I did well better this time around so that kind of makes up for my bad brawl last time. I hope I am able to keep up this performance in my new brawl.
