Brawl Report #89: An average run in 4 star brawls

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. Rebellion has also changed the battles and I keep losing my fights recently. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 4 wins. There was 1 free win because 1 of them failed to submit a match. My rewards for the brawl were 3,619 merits and 56.449 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 7th place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. This brawl was worse than last time even though I did slightly better in my fights.

Brawl fights

There were 2 that I won, 2 that I won due to surrender, and 5 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I lost this match because of my opponent's bloodlust monster. That bloodlust damage just added up and there wasn't much that I could do against it once it stacked. Those double strike monsters just did too much damage.

You can find the second match here. I won this match because of the speed of my monsters. I wasn't expecting a one-round finish.

You can find the third match here. I lost this match because of my opponent's summoner. It took longer than I would like to kill off monsters and my opponent's tank just healed up too much damage.

You can find the fourth match here. I won this match due to my bloodlust monster. It continued to kill the monsters and only got stronger when it was enraged.

You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had the stronger lineup. My opponent had more monsters that could attack per round and that added up over the course of the match.

You can find the sixth match here. I lost this match because my opponent outplayed me using his summoner. I was planning to outlast my opponent but that summoner destroyed any chances of that.

Conclusion

I think doing 8 fights for 3,619 merits and 56.449 SPS is a good reward for the effort. I did decently as I won half of my matches but my guild didn't do as well. Well, half of those wins were from my opponent not submitting their matches but 4-star brawl fights are harder compared to what we were getting in tier 3. Either way, I do what I can and I just got outplayed by my opponent's stronger lineups this week.
