Brawl Report #95: Getting destroyed in my brawl fights

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. Rebellion has also changed the battles and I keep losing my fights recently. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches and this time was rough as I lost the submitted fights.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 5 wins. There were 2 free wins in this match because two guilds didn't submit someone for a match. My rewards for the brawl were 4,143 merits and 61.614 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 5th place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. Our guild placed better but our points weren't so great. So the rewards were less compared to last time

Brawl fights

There were 6 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I lost this match. My opponent just had the speed advantage. The double opportunity monsters were too much for me and one of them even had bloodlust.

You can find the second match here. I lost this match again due to the level and speed advantage that my opponent had. There wasn't much I could do when my opponent got to attack first.

You can find the third match here. I lost this match but this was a close match. My luck was just bad as the scattershot just worked against me. I couldn't focus my damage to take out the single damage dealer that my opponent had. If either one went down, I would have won.

You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match because I only had limited monsters. I couldn't do much when my opponent had a level advantage and a numbers advantage too.

You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match and the speed advantage was too much to overcome. Also, the trample from the coastal sentry was too powerful. My flying monsters couldn't do much for me and I couldn't outlast my opponent.

You can find the sixth match here. I lost this match and my opponent just had the better lineup. I had some luck with my Flying monster but the repair and triage kept my opponent's monsters alive. I couldn't do much as my opponent took out my monsters.

Conclusion

I think doing 8 fights for 4,143 merits and 61.614 SPS is a good reward for the effort. I guess I was right to be worried about the Gold League matches. I got destroyed by my opponents and the only wins that I got were from guilds who did not submit a person for a match. The level advantage seems to be the biggest issue as the stats for my opponent's monsters are too much to overcome.
