Splinterlands: Quora versus Quora but affliction gives me the win

Splinterlands is a complex game and it allows for various different cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various different rulesets applied and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle that I had and it's about the card Goblin Psychic.

Featured Cards

Goblin Psychic is earth monster that starts off with tank heal. It learns affliction at level 4, silence at level 7 and dispel at level 10. I have mine at level 5 so it has tank heal and affliction.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Corrosive Fog, Wands Out, and Are you Entertained?. This means that all monsters will lose 1 armor per round, only magic monsters can be used and an extra gladiator can be used. There is also 25 mana and I have the choice of fire, earth, life, or death splinter.

My summoner is Immortalis and it gives -1 health, void, and the shatter ability.

Quora Towershead101stHeal and Bloodlust
Goblin Psychic62ndTank Heal and Afflction
Spirit Hoarder33rdTriage and Dispel
Total Mana:25

I start off with Quora Towershead as my tank because of the heal ability and bloodlust. Goblin Psychic is my 2nd monster as it can heal my Quora and the affliction can stop heals on my opponent. My last monster is Spirit Hoarder with triage and dispel. With Immortalis as my summoner, I will be able to reduce the magic damage and I have two heals to keep Quora alive.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I have an advantage in this match because we used the same lineup but I have a level advantage. I am glad that I have Goblin Psychic leveled up for the affliction because once that lands, I can take out my opponent's Quora. It will be a battle of endurance because we will heal up all the damage we deal each round due to the heals and summoner.

Round 2

round 2.png
I landed my affliction so this match is my win.

conclusion.png
I was able to win the match a few rounds later as I expected.

Conclusion

The battle this time around went exactly as I expected. Immortalis did a great job of keeping my monsters alive and the affliction sealed my opponent's fate. The level advantage worked in my favor as the extra abilities were what ended up leading to the win and we had the same monster lineup. It really pays off to upgrade your monsters because those abilities can come in useful. We both relied on the summoner to reduce magic damage and the heals made it an impossible match for both me and my opponent to win. It would have been a gamble if I had to go into fatigue rounds so the affliction ended up being the reason why I won.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

It was a boring game as the magic cards couldn't do a damage, the fact that you could attack first and that extra health is the reason you won. Quora with immunity is a magnificent steal

I would say that it would be the affliction as the major winning factor because it stopped the other Quora from healing. Although Quora with immunity is quite useful in some matches

True, I even forgot the affliction, it's such a pain to mostly lose that because of that

Immune is pretty strong but it didn't really help much in this match. There wasn't any poison or cripple.
