Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: Blackmoon Nymph is a useful card in low mana Noxious Fumes Matches

Splinterlands is a pretty complicated game and there are some interesting battles with all the options available. This is a part of the weekly social media challenge for Splinterlands. This week is about a great fight where I won using Blackmoor Nymph.

Featured Card

Ancient Redwood is an earth splinter that costs 3 mana. This card starts off with the immunity ability. It learns at snare at level 3. I have this card at level 1 and I don't use this card often, but I do think that it can be useful due to its decent health and immunity skill.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

rule set.png

The ruleset this time is Noxious Fumes. This means that all monsters start off poisoned. There is 14 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire or earth splinter.

Pelacor Mercenary72ndFlying and Heal
Blackmoor Nymph33rdImmunity
Total Mana:14

My summoner is Obsidian for the +1 magic. I have Fungus Fiend up front as my tank to eat up a hit or two at the start. Then I have Pelacor Mercenary with flying ability and heal. Then my last monster is Blackmoor Nymph as a damage dealer in the back and its magic damage is buffed by my summoner.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think I have the advantage because I have Blackmoor Nymph and immunity. As long as I outlast my opponent, I will win this match. My opponent doesn't have many monsters that can attack so I am not too worried after I take out the first monster or two.

Round 3

round 3.png
My opponent lost two monsters while I lost one. At this point, I have won the match. The magic monster will die due to poison and I should be able to easily outlast my opponent because of the magic damage from Blackmoor Nymph and the poison on my opponent's last monster.

I ended up winning the match in the following round through the poison damage.

Conclusion

The battle this time around went exactly like I expected. I chose to use a monster that can last longer through heal and an immunity monster. This allowed me to outlast my opponent and that damage just added up over time on my opponent. My opponent was focused on damage and they did have a heal tank to outlast if the match lasted longer. However, my lineup was better in terms of that factor. I think my opponent should have moved the magic monster until after the heal monster to get more damage in. However, they were worried because that magic monster would eventually die to the poison after a few turns. I was thinking of a similar strategy at the start but I felt that immunity combined with a heal monster would work out better.

You can see my entire match here.

Ohh Nymph is op with immune, you can't poison her and criplle her, you can't reduce her magic skills and with immortalis she is a beast as a tank!

Yea. Immunity is a great ability. I think Quora is better as a monster but in low mana fights, I think Nymph is more useful.
