Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: Trampling down my opponent using Possibilus the Wise in melee only fights
Splinterlands is a pretty complicated game and there are some interesting battles with all the options available. This is a part of the weekly social media challenge for Splinterlands. This week is about a great fight where I won using Possibilius.
Featured Card
Possibilus the Wise is an water summoner that costs 6 mana. This card gives your monsters +2 health, trample ability, and reach at level 3. I have this card at level 2 and I use this card quite often. It works well with two melee monsters up front for the additional damage. Adding in the trample, the melee monsters can deal massive damage.
Rule set, Battle and Plan
The ruleset this time is Up Close & Personal and Taking Sides. This means that only melee monsters can be used and no neutral monsters can be used. There are 48 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire, water, or life splinter.
Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Possibilus the Wise | 6 | Summoner | +2 Health, Trample and Reach |
Diemonshark | 8 | 1st | Enrage |
Coastal Sentry | 10 | 2nd | Double Strike |
Kulu Mastermind | 9 | 3rd | Opportunity |
Deeplurker | 6 | 4th | Opportunity |
Pelacor Bandit | 3 | 5th | Flying and Sneak |
Chaos Rear Guard | 4 | 6th | Shield |
Total Mana: | 46 |
I have Diemonshark up front as my tank because it is fast and it also has enrage. Then I have Coastal Sentry after that with double strike because it gains reach from my summoner. Next up are two opportunity monsters to deal damage to the lowest health monster. After that is Pelacor Bandit as a sneak monster and my final monster is a shield monster to deal with my opponent's sneak monsters.
Round 1
At first glance, I think I have the advantage because of the damage that I have. My opponent has quite a few monsters that can't attack right at the start so my damage will add up. I also have a speed advantage. I am a bit worried about the repair monsters but it will depend on how often I miss or not.
Round 2
My opponent has lost one monster while I have lost none. My tank has taken a bit of damage but I did more damage than my opponent this round.
Round 3
My opponent and I lost one monster, but my opponent's bloodlust monster managed to kill off my tank. This fight will go down to whether or not I can take out that tank, but I still have the speed advantage. That bloodlust monster won't be able to kill off my Sentry in one turn.
Round 3
My opponent lost two monsters while I lost one. At this point, I have won the match. The magic monster will die due to poison and I should be able to easily outlast my opponent because of the magic damage from Blackmoor Nymph and the poison on my opponent's last monster.
I ended up winning the match in the following round through the trample damage.
Conclusion
The battle this time around went exactly like I expected. Possibilus the Wise and Coastal Sentry is a deadly combination. It was made even more powerful due to the opportunity monsters in my lineup. The shield monster in the back did its job and the rest of my lineup just devastated my opponent. My opponent was focused more on an endurance battle and there were too many cards that couldn't attack from their position. This limited his damage and gave me an edge as I focused on my opponent with my damage-oriented lineup.

The coastal sentry is a beast, and having that reach ability just makes it unstoppable. I think 70% you won because of the costal sentry.
Yea. It was my strongest damage dealer but I also think that my opportunity monsters did some good work as well.
trample is great skill, possibilitus is op!
Yea. It's an amazing skill when you use melee monsters.
