Splinterlands Weekly Challenge Battle BATTLE MAGE SECRETS! Lost Magic and Cursed Windeku

Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a rule set using a specific card and on this week's post it is a battle with the Lost Magic rule set. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Melee Mayhem and Lost Magic. This means that all melee monsters can attack from anywhere and no magic monsters can be used. There is also 12 mana available and I am left with the choice of water, life, or death splinter.

The summoner I chose to use this time is Thaddius Brood. It reduces my enemy's health by 1. The magic debuff is not useful due to the ruleset and I can play cards to a higher level.

Total Mana:12

I plan to use Cursed Windeku as my first tank for the thorns and heal. Having Cursed Windeku as my tank is very good due to the melee mayhem ruleset because that counter damage can add up. After that is Weirding Warrior for the shatter ability. My last monster is a filler monster.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that I have the advantage in this match. I am worried about the bloodlust so things could always go against me. However, my opponent has focused his damage on melee damage so the thorns and heal should help my tank. I am hoping to bring that bloodlust monster up front as soon as possible so that my ranged damage can stay alive and deal more damage.

Round 2

round 2.png
I was able to land enough attacks and kill off that filler monster up front. With this, I will win this match. I heal up 3 damage per turn and the thorns will also deal 2 damage per turn. So for every damage that I take, my opponent will take 2 damage. At the same time, I also have the chance to deal 5 damage per round outside of thorns.

A few rounds later I won but I did miss quite a few attacks. I did land a few attacks and the rest was done through the thorns counter damage.

Conclusion

The battle did go as I expected. My choice to use Cursed Windeku as my tank worked out. I was a bit worried about the bloodlust monster but it didn't stack enough bloodlust to make me worry. I was glad to see that I was able to bring that monster up front early so I had extra damage from my ranged monster. I was a bit surprised to see how much I missed because of a 2 speed difference though.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players play in a ruleset.

Cool strategy brother. Using Cursed Windeku as your tank was smart, especially with the melee mayhem ruleset. The thorns and healing strategy worked out well for you. !BEER

Ultimate the windeku is an already great tank, However, having a Windeku that heals is even better, that bloodlust would have been brutal from the opponent

I remember when you used to lose more matches😁😁
It’s good that you can at least win some matches for yourself
I’m glad about that
Congratulations on your win!
